Novak's shot wasn't any more desperate than the one Roger hit when he was down mp of the '08 Wimby final versus Rafa. Everybody oohed and ahhed over that one.
LAWL. I. Can't.
That was a great passing shot but it was not an all-or-nothing shot. Genius and a bit of luck from a man who knew he was very much in it had he won that point.
Now onto Novak, camera was very close on him towards the end of that game. You clearly saw a defeated man there at 40:15, agonised that a crowd is not embracing him. I think he decided to hit a huge win or lose shot BEFORE that serve arrived. A typical crowd pleaser. He guessed the serve and played a brilliant shot, absolute stunner.
Was that genius? God it was.
Did he have luck? Loads.
Was that desperation? SURELY.

After this shot he started believing again.
Nailed it.

And as for that shot. Djokovic had been hitting good FH returns all match off that wide serve, throwing himself out of court and then Fed was just cleaning up with the down the line forehand winner. One of his most successful one-two's all day. It had to be that good from Djokovic or he would have been out of the point watching Fed's forehand glide down the line for the match. Like, he said, he read the serve, which gave him that little bit more of a chance to set up for it. He knew as soon as he read the serve, he had a chance to make it. If it missed, it would have just been by millimetres too. Federer had done that one two so much, that I actually think, if Djokovic had put that back in play cross court, the odds, of Federer smacking it up the line and away were higher than Djokovic actually missing the shot he went for.
Novak's level in the last 4 games of the match was unreal, should have really played like that from the beginning, I mean the first 2 sets from him were
Guys, Nole played very well the first two sets, Fed was brilliant, unreal like in Paris. Nole was far more aggressive and hitting his strokes much more cleanly than in all his other matches (since R2 )

I reckon this must count as 2nd most painful defeat fed has had. wimby 08 final would be no1, though, just maybe, the manner how he lost this one could make it top.
3rd. I think for him AO 09 probably tops it, because it was a final too and meant to be his coronation as GOAT.
He knows he shouldn't have lost this match, so this will probably be the loss he is most bitter about.
We'll see wtf your player will be in his 30's... Probably outside the top 10.
Federer fucked this up, as he usually does in the 5th set. But at least he tried.
Federer is obviously shit in his 30s, according to you at least.
Why else would you ask him to 'retire for his fans' ?

The funniest thing about this is Federer fans getting so pissed about him choking I mean seriously, have they forgotten how many times players have choked against him in his career? Thank you Novak and Jo for putting the old man back in his place the last 2 Grand Slams.
About his reaction:
The whole time Roger was serving in that direction, so Novak was just going for it. Nothing wrong with that if you’re about to lose. First his crying during his loss to Nadal at the Australian Open a few years ago and now this. Please grow up Roger! Be a classy gentleman, not only when you win.
Ofcourse it was a bit of a ‘lucky’ shot, but that wasn’t the reason why he lost the match. He followed it up by making a lot of unforced errors in the last few games and really handed Djokovic the match. Novak just played steady at the end.
Don’t get me wrong, Roger is a great player and I respect him for what he achieved. But these comments don’t make it any better. I expected a better reaction from such a great player.

Good luck for the 2012 season:
• Novak Djokovic
• Rafael Nadal
• Thiemo de Bakker
• Robin Haase
Andy Roddick, Fernando Verdasco, Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych, John Isner
Federer said afterward that he couldn’t fathom his opponent's mentality at that moment. Who could? Who can explain 63-2? But there you have him, the 2011 Novak Djokovic: He'd played the percentages all year and won; this time he rolled the dice. He won again.

30-something man: Yeah, so now you have to learn to play tennis.
