Richard was fairly average I would say. Dolgopolov was either injured or sick and played abysmal first set. Second set, Richard was not aggressive enough, almost like every shot on return, he was just waiting for errors. I don't think he played better than against Almgaro.

The SB is broken for Richard's match, so we can't see the stats, but yes, Dolgo served well in the 2nd set, Richard, too, it has to be said.

Well done, Richard, very focused today, no comparison with the hesitation against Almagro.

Difficult match to get any rhythm. Richard did what he had to do - serve well to hold his serve and not panic when the bullets Dolgo was hitting started to find the court.

And yes I was holding my breathe that it didn't go 3 cuz not sure how long RIchard could stay composed or how long before Dolgo went from missing everything to making everything.

Don't think Richard was great today but think it was better than against Almagro - he DID serve better and came into net more often and just looked like he cared today.

I was just looking at his records for the past 52 weeks and he has been really consistent, usually getting 2 to 3 wins per tournament. To break into the top 10, he needs a big result or two and to at least defend his R16 USO points

Happy Richard got through this, Dolgopolov made many UE in the 1st set which helped Richard. I was happy how Richard served and Dolgopolov didn't look to good on court, something must of been up with him. Still improvements to be made such as attacking the 2nd serve instead of just hitting it back.

On one of his BPs in the first game of the second set, he actually moved forward to hit a second serve but was thwarted because it was unexpectedly quick (he ended up shanking it)
