Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
The top 100 is the biggest goal in tennis for all challenger players, and since most of my favorites are right on the border of the top 100, either in or out, it's something I'm always focused on.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Gaba in 1st round! Worst possible draw for Rui!
Fred got a nice draw, and if he plays at his level, I can see him add 110 pts to his ranking...

Gaba v Machado starting now. They're similar level players, so should be interesting.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Terrible opening game for Gaba to give up the early break.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Gaba got the break back. And he's hitting the ball very well and defending well so far. Hit a great BH to get the break.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Rui plays aggressive when down break point. I like that trait about him.
He was too solid in the first set and won it 6-4. Tough, physical match with quite a few long rallies.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Machado def. Gabashvili 6-4 6-4
A close match overall, but the difference came down to the big points, and Rui being more solid with his serve and game.
Gaba hits a better ball than Rui does, but he just couldn't consistently put his combinations together, and he got passive on big points, Rui got aggressive.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
I definitely would have preferred Gaba winning as he needs the points much more, but Jan would have beaten him anyway. I expect Hajek to destroy Machado, like 6-1 6-2.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Arnalboldi takes the first 6-2, against Gil.
Gil made A LOT of unforced errors. Arnaboldi hitting pretty well, though. Gil should play more aggressively without errors but it's not looking good for Porteguese.

Re: Week 29: Poznan (Entry List)
Arnaboldi breaks, 6-2 *4-3.
Gil playing much better in the second set but seriously, Arnaboldi is very solid today. He's not making errors, hitting deep, slicing deeep and returning has been very good. Gil is in serious trouble now.
Lojda def. Greul 6-3 6-2
Another pathetic result for Simon.

Comfortable win.
