Clemson loses to UVA 6-1(UVA did not play Domijan or Courtney) Galloway got a great 6-3 4-6 (12-10) win over Singh at #3.

Virginia plays Georgia tech today at 2. Gomez is undefeated in the ACC and Domijan is as well. They are playing for player of the year recognition.

SEC wraps up their season today. The highlight match being 4 Tennessee at 5 Georgia. Live video will be available for that one here

Is Sanam Singh too high at #3 for UVA? Most teams that take a point off of Virginia get the #3 singles win.

I only watched him vs. Martin Kildahl and thought Kildahl just overpowered him, but I'm not sure if that's how most opponents beat Singh.

This weekend is rivalry weekend in the Pac-10. Cal vs Stanford, UCLA vs USC, UW vs Oregon, and Arizona gets to play out of conference.

Stanford should beat Cal on paper but Cal is definitely a tricky team. Doubles may be key here. USC is in top shape now and should beat UCLA 5-2 or better. UW should beat Oregon though I hope Daniel Schmidt figures out how to win again.

Baylor beat Texas A&M 5-2 yesterday. Baylor has really improved from the beginning of the season. At the start I actually thought Baylor was the 5th best Big 12 team but they have emerged as the best. This was a strong win over an A&M team that had started to hit their stride as well.

4. #54 Raymond Sarmiento (USC) def. Adrien Puget (UCLA) 2-6, 6-4, 6-2
5. Emilio Gomez (USC) def. Holden Seguso (UCLA) 2-6, 6-3, 6-4
6. Maxime Tabatruong (UCLA) def. Peter Lucassen (USC) 3-6, 6-4, 6-1

Match Notes
USC 21-2; 6-0 Pac-10; National ranking #3
UCLA 16-6; 3-3 Pac-10; National ranking #9
Order of finish: Doubles (1,2,3); Singles (1,3,2,4,5,6)

Surprised that Inbar won, just because he seemed like a weak #2 to me. Then again I last saw him play against JP Smith back in February, so it's hard to judge...

Not a bad effort from UCLA. Nguyen is declining. He has been on a slump recently, this could be a detail that causes USc to lose come tournament time.

I agree about Nguyen. I think Nguyen was moved down to #3 because he was losing a lot at #2 earlier in the season. The only time I've seen Nguyen live was when he was in the 3rd set against Reid Carleton at ITA indoors. I think Nguyen choked that one away, which might have started the downward spiral... I don't think USC wants to move anyone else up to replace Nguyen since 4-6 is pretty solid.

Despite calling Inbar "weak" earlier, I actually enjoyed watching him play at ITA indoors. He plays too inconsistently to win week in and week out against good teams in my opinion.

Stanford wins 4-3 over Cal, clinches at 4-1. #2 and #4 singles went to Cal in 3rd set tiebreaks after the two matches featured split tiebreak sets. The story sort of reminds of how Stanford beat UW, except Stanford killed Cal in doubles.
