So a player can only appear once in the list with their longest streak?
Ferrero I believe had another 14 match streak last year anyhow.

Yep. By withdrawing from Monte Carlo it is now beyond Nadal's control.
Djokovic: win Belgrade (streak = 30), quarter-finals Madrid (streak = 32, tied with Nadal), so all he has to do is make the semi-finals of Madrid and win Belgrade.

Yes, players can only appear once on the list. If they have two streaks the same size, then their most recent year is given (see Youzhny). Otherwise Nadal and Federer would dominate the list too much in my opinion. Nadal only would be in 19 times (quick count) and Federer even more than that I think. |

(Added thanks) Wow, that is so bad! The funny thing is during all that he only lost one spot in the rankings, he started the run at 59 and now he is 60. Talk about really using those 10 points Indian Wells and Miami give for direct entrants. |

He won't lose many points until the summer. He had a very good run in july and august last year, making semifinals in 5 consecutive tournaments (3 challengers and 2 atp). |

Good find! Ouch, second longest losing streak on list after Spadea. But to be fair he did play some pretty big names in that run (even if there weren't ranked high at the time). |

Just added one of the most notorious losing streaks; Young 11 straight in 2005-07. Also Schwank 11 x L in 2009.

it´s more formal, but you should consider thomas muster. should have a streak during 1995 clay court season that would rank him not far from top of the list.

I'm worried if I open that up there'll be too many! The best winning streaks of the open era are pretty well known (Voo's thread: 40+ winning streaks @ http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=179660), but how about you share some of the nastiest losing streaks? I won't add them to the opening post, but I think it's relevant to post here as it will put the active ones into perspective. |
