Will Rafa repeat his clay dominance?
http://www.tennisworldusa.org/Will-R...ticolo450.html
Quote:
Novak Djokovic is creeping up behind Rafael Nadal in the rankings, and defends almost nothing during the clay season while Nadal defends 3 TMS events and a slam, 5000 points. This is a crucial part of the season for both players. Back in 2008, Djokovic had a similar incredible run of form before losing to Nadal on a few occasions and losing confidence. This is a new Djokovic, though, one which a great shot to get to #1 in the world, and very soon.
Coming into Monte-Carlo, we have Nadal as the massive favorite to take the title, and why not? He's won it 6 years running and last year barely lost games. Novak Djokovic surely will be a strong favorite as well, but of course, how much energy, physically and mentally does Djokovic have left to continue this long win streak?
Of course we cannot write off Roger Federer, but after a poor showing in Miami against Nadal, the question is all about how Fed will bounce back. Funny how a few years ago, Fed and Nadal were the top 2 seeds and everyone wanted to know where Djokovic fell in the draw. Now Nadal and Djokovic are the top 2 seeds and we all wonder where Federer will end up the draw. Funny how things change.
Other contenders include the incredible mighty David Pics Ferrer, the mercurial Nicolas Almugro, and the headcase Nando Verdasco. Robin Soderling and Tomas Berdych also are in with a shot. Monfils could make a deep run at Roland Garros if he stays healthy, Gasquet, Nalbandian, and Dolgopolov are all long shots.
|
What do you think, MTF? Will Nadal dominate again? Will Djokovic take over? Has Federer got anything left?

Re: Will Rafa repeat his clay dominance?
Of course he will, who else can win a title on clay? The Spanish Bitchmada? Or maybe Djokovic systematically running out of gas?

Re: Will Rafa repeat his clay dominance?
Nole will win the French in 5 sets V Nadal! Everything else on Clay runner up! the Losses will spur him on to do it. Federer To do the norm and struggle on Clay.
