Re: Canadian players
Milos won 62 64, serving 18 aces on 29 successful first serves.
Peter is up 61 22 in a rain delay.

Re: Canadian players
good win for Milos, looks like his serve is still there
Peter is winning like he should although he hasn't been able to break this set, his serve stats are very impressive, only 1 point lost on first serve(26/27) and a 81% first serve %

Re: Canadian players
Peter won, but it took a lot longer than expected, he was up 5-4 and serving in the TB, lost both his service points then the next one to lose the ste, then got broken to open the 3rd, but he regained focus and won shortly thereafter, but he can't play like that against Mannarino and expect to win

Re: Canadian players
Frank drew Robin Haase in the first round if Chennai, definately winnable but he could have done better with the draw too

Re: Canadian players
milos - and he won easily but anything but easy wins in his first 2 matches will be expected. I await to see him v.s skugor and vasselin who both looked equally as impressive today.
peter - ..blowing the tiebreak is nothing new really. Still think he'll lose to mannarino
frank - the draw could have been alot tougher for him in chennai but hasse was playing pretty well toward the end of last year so i expect a tough match. i'll say frank wins in 3

Re: Canadian players
and if milos can qualify what a fantastic set of first rounds too!
there really is only one bad draw in gasquet, others are against yuki bhambri, dustin brown and somdev devarmann.
if he gets bhambri he'll either play tipsarevic or schwank in round 2
if he gets gasquet..assuming richard is playing well then he'd most likely lose but on the small chance he didnt he'd have bau or bolelli in round 2
if he gets brown it would be either frank or hasse in round 2
devrmann gives him bopanna or wawrinka in round 2
so the best draw is probably dustin brown

Re: Canadian players
Happy New Year everyone!
I have a bad feeling when it comes to Peter. He barely won over this Mitchell guy.. how is he going to win against the top qualifying seed Mannarino? I just don't see it happening..

The thing with Peter is that he's always capable of following a so-so match against a lower ranked player with a great match against a better ranked player. Keep the faith

Re: Canadian players
I think Peter may have a better chance than some of us are saying, Mannario needed a 5th set tiebreak against Riba last year in the US Open, which is terrible.

I saw a lot of that match - Riba wasn't playing bad. And Mannarino just beat the guy who crushed Milos, so its all relative. Pound for pound Mannarino is a better player right now than Peter. You just never know with these early January tournaments though what form these guys will be in. Anyone has a chance.

Re: Canadian players
Riba has 7 career victories on hardcourts, including futures and challengers and none on the ATP circuit.

well we'll see but i just dont have that much confidence in him after he had the chance to end things today in straights and didnt.
I dont think he has no chance, but if adrian is playing well he should beat peter because he is the better player.

Re: Canadian players
Mannarino played a 3 hour match yesterday so he may be tired, althought Peter was waiting out pretty much all day for the rain

Re: Canadian players
we've used the possibility that players may be tired before and its hardly ever worked out that way, they get used to it
