Re: Sydney Entry List (updated November 30, 2010)
can't afford appearance money, or the top guys have smartened up and won't play the week before a GS? anyway the great field that this tournament used to attract is no longer.

Top ten players prefer to play Kooyong exh...more money to earn, less tireness...it's not "real" tennis !!!

I was thinking the exact same thing when I looked at the entry list. I remember the days when this was a 'premier' event, now it's rather ordinary.

Well, the really top players aren't there, that's true, but a cut-off of 52 is very, very good for a 250. Possibly the best there is.

the cut-off is very good for such a small event, but a few years ago even the top line was great! although of course some such guys ended up 'injured' or may i suggest tanked eventually. i guess i'd rather have a competitive field than some glamorous names, but one still misses a time when this tournament punched above its weight.
the female side is still excellent as it's a more important event on their tour. guess the girls don't mind working hard a week before melbourne.

Re: Sydney Entry List/Fact Sheet (updated December 11, 2010)
Wildcard for Great Britain's James Ward. Probably a similar deal to that last year where Ward got a wildcard to Atlanta in exchange for Harrisson getting one in Queens.

Is the tournament going to suffer from the floods?
