Serenidad, those are photos I took of Daniel Brands when I was in Bangkok. Nice guy, I was rooting for him, but he really needs to develop a more complete game.

Why so much hype for Brands on MTF. He has a big serve and attacking game that is good on grass and fast hard courts. However, he has a mediocre ground game, as well as sub-par return of serve. He is 23 years old and has hovered around the second half of the top 100 for a few years. I do not see top 20 or 30 potential here. There are alot of better players to talk about.

Those two wins in Basel qualifying, especially the absolutely unexplainable and inexplicable loss by Karol 6-2 6-1 to someone who cannot return, look like they may keep Brands in the top 100, which really sucks. Right now, if the season ended and he gained zero points, he'll finish right at about 100. Literally just one or two losses and he would be out of here. Serenidad must surely be pleased about this.

Brisbane? He should have chosen Chennai or Doha, easier entry lists.
Daniel maintained a top 100 position this year, better than I think anyone expected. Now we need to see if he can make a jump into becoming an established ATP player next year.

Well, Pippo already established himself a long time ago as a high level clay court player. And Bolelli is a joke now but was a top 50 player for an extended period. Daniel hasn't gotten to that level at all. So, the true tea tells us that Daniel needs to prove if he's a legit talent or not, because it's questionable at this time.
