It's an option as Forget loves Mika and serve and volley can disturb Djoko but Mika's shape is not great lately and surface is slower than in previous DC ties. Reading Richard since Jo is out he begins to believe in his chance the Troicki-Gasquet is starting it coulb be interesting.

Meh there isn't much to talk about at this point. It'll be Monfils and Simon in singles and that's pretty much it. In doubles unless more injuries happen, Forget will stay with the usual, llodra-Benneteau or Llodra-Clement, no point in trying new things the day of the final.

Simon won a title last month and will make final at least this week, and he has the awesome h2h against Tipsa and Troicki and the honourablish h2h against Djokovic. He has no chance to embarrass himself until the final (no shame in losing to Soderling this week or in Paris), and Gasquet has no chance to impress, unless he beats Federer in Paris (which he won't). We'll be lucky if Llodra is healthy enough to play doubles, nevermind be in any kind of form to play 5 sets in singles against anyone on a slow surface with slow balls.

I think France should focus all its efforts on winning the 2 single matches vs Serbia N.2 and the double. Djokovic will win his 2 matches, either against France N.1 (Monfils) or against France N.2 (Simon/Gasquet).

the only real question is who will be French n°1? Simon or Monfils? whoever Forget chooses, Simon or Monfils will not win against Djokovic. Djokovic will win his two ties easily, and France must absolutely win the two other ties. losing one means: Serbia DC champion.

good luck

Sadly, I totally agree with you. I don't imagine a second djoko losing his single matches.
The suspense is about double and 2 other single matches.
I want to believe we'll win in double, so now, the question is ...are we able to win the 2 other matches ? I have some confidence in Gael, and I'd prefer to see Micka than Gilles. I've nothing against him, but in DC, especially in final, in this kind of atmosphere, with the pressure, the guy has to be a figher and a bit crazy

What do you mean between Gilles and Gael it's almost sure that Gael will be n1. Gilles would need to win Basel and reach Bercy Final to have a better ranking than Gael, tough honestly. If none of the others frenchies reach at least Bercy semi Gael will be number n1 and will play Troicki or Tipsy friday. The question is more who will play Djoko on Friday and who will play with Mika saturday.

Anyone knows when Forget will announce the guys he takes for the training session ? During Bercy maybe

Call me crazy, but if Troicki can keep his form, he is very dangerous. Djokovic will be exhausted, unless he skips Bercy.

The training session will be in St Cyprien. Forget explains that he will take at least 5 players or six and even more as he said that the door is open. Jo can come if he wants He's still obsessed by his mental preparation
Quote:

So Richard is out of Bercy and Gilles is almost out (at the moment of writing, Soderling leads 6-4 3-0). So what's the lesson learnt in Bercy, if any? Maybe that Richard and Gilles are equal right now and choosing one or the other for the final won't change anything. They both can - and should - win against Serbia N.2 but no way they are going to beat a top 5, i.e. Djokovic.

Tomorrow Mika plays Djoko, the surface is different but it could give some informations to Forget on the opportunity to put Mika on friday if he lost 2-2 on fast court it would not be great for a single selection. For the Satuday doubles Mika/Arno lost to Zimonjic today. Zimonjic has found his form lately . We have also the knee of Gael who hurts him

I read that on France television Mauresmo should comment the match with chamoulaud and Boetsch http://blog.telestar.fr/2010/11/amel...mentatrice.php

It doesn't get easier for Forget. Richard with no answers to Roger's serve and Gilles fading in the second set against Söderling.

When Fed plays like he did it's tough to have an answer. At least Federer is not serbian With ERV Richard played on the right side yesterday because Forget asked him. If he has to play with Mika it's him who will move from the left side. I forgot but the training session is supposed to start the 22th of november.
