Yes, I had forgotten he played a few times more on the Challenger circuit since then - also in the RG qualifying where he lost 6-3 6-3 to Tobias Kamke. If he had not been injured shortly before he had a great chance of qualifying and winning a round in the main draw - his opponents after Kamke were Lammer, Bogomolov Jnr and then Stephane Robert in the main draw. But we'll never know now.
I also hope he gets a good send off at Barcelona next year. I am sure we will see Beto again in a coaching capacity on the tour. He was a player who got as much as he could out of his game - hopefully he can pass some of that on to a few up-and-coming players.
