Dude, you DO realize that FF7 is ranked by many magazines etc. among the top 10 video games of all time?

I'm not even a fan of the FF Series, but FF7 has to be one of the best games I've ever played. No way can Starcraft or anything like that beat it.

Yea i think you need to chill out mate. Final Fantasy 7 is one of the best games ive ever played as is Starcraft but thats just my opinion. Habibko is entitled to his as well. I myself am not a fan of multiplayer games as i prefer the single player experience especially games with good stories like the Final Fantasy or Starcraft or Bioshock or Deus Ex etc. Most Starcraft fans probably couldn't understand that but it's just not my thing. Theres no right or wrong or good or bad reasons to play or buy a game.

That's the challenge. It won't be the last time you will get owned. I failed the first time but the 2nd time I fucked them up badly and I was showing no mercy.

Sorry, but I have to agree with Bilbo here. Yes, FF7 got incredible reviews on release, and yes RPG enthusiasts will cite it as maybe the best game of all time. That's all fine. But Starcraft might have the greatest longevity of any game ever made. It is twelve years old now and it still has an extraordinarily busy online community. Not to mention it might be the most meticulously crafted and well-balanced RTS game ever made. Aside from its graphics it still beats out new RTS games in every possible way.

In the end, it's very simple. What do you like more, RPGs or RTS games? I have never liked turn-based RPGs so the answer is easy. Obviously Bilbo and I are in the minority in this thread, though. But to say that Starcraft doesn't stand up to in FF7 is silly and stupid, as I could easily make the argument the other way around

You obviously don't have an idea which games are most popular at pro tournaments. Even 10 years later Starcraft is still being on top (since a few days things have changed though). Maybe only Counter-Strike has a greater longevity.

a RTS game is about how well-balanced it is like Smoke already stated. Who cares if it's about aliens or not.
