Re: Frank Dancevic
Typical Frank, he always has these chances, this is one of the best draws he could have hoped for, Brown has never played a grass court game at ATP level. I am aware Frank hasnt played for a long time with an injury, but he will have trained hard and has already played 4 grass court matches prior to this.
He was broken in the 2nd set at 5-5 but managed to break back, he now leads by a mini break 2-1 in the tie break. I really cant see him winning this match, but he needs to as once he loses his points for the final against Tursonov he will fall into the 300s.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Fantastic from Frank taking the set in the tiebreak.
His record in 3 sets is never great though, he always seems to go to 3 sets, us as fans hardly have any nerves left lol.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Good to see him fight back in the second, hopefully he can keep that level in the third

Re: Frank Dancevic
Brown is serving like a tank, i never realised he was 6 foot 5, its horrible to watch players like Brown and Karlovic and even Frank doesent have a massive return game. Im sure its not a classic.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Hes now facing 3 break points at 0-40 down. Its such a shame, he never seems like he can close matches out.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Frank saves them all only to give away another break point!

Re: Frank Dancevic
Frank has another break point but cant take it, 2 of 9 is just not going to win you too many matches. Only 4 aces as well in 15 service games and a tiebreak, thats really disapointing for Frank on grass.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Frank breaks back and is now 30-0 up on serve. He has to win this match, he faces a really nice 2nd round draw

Re: Frank Dancevic
Frank saves 2 match points. He needs this game and then i think mentally he has the edge.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Its over Frank goes down 6-4 in the final set.
Typical Frank losing in 3 sets. He really needs to be more ruthless and improve his defensive game. He couldnt have got a much better draw, he must hope for a nice draw in Wimbledon if he gets in with his protected ranking or qualifies or after Newport he could find himself in the 400-500s.

Its definitely going to be a long road back for Frank to crack the top 100. Lets hope these matches over the past week allowed him to get his timing and fitness back in time for a good run at Wimbledon.

Re: Frank Dancevic
Tough for Frank, but you've gotta figure that it was really the rust and lack of matches that got him in the third. He didn't even manage to win 60% of first serve points in the final set, not much of a chance of him winning with those numbers.
Hopefully, he can pick things up over the next few weeks, especially next week, he needs to string together a few wins in Eastbourne.
