He actually won 5 between 1974 & 1978.
And 54 tournaments overall, which is quite impressive.

Re: #1!
Roger has officially surpassed Connors on the all time weeks at #1 list.
Lendl will be next in two weeks time.
Overtaking Sampras is not yet a certainty, but not many would bet against it.

Unless Nadal will get injured and miss next years clay season, I don't see Federer regaining the number 1 spot, to be honest. Typical he has to end one week shy of Sampras' record.

Yeah me neither really. Still, 285 is a great load of weeks!

Re: #1!
Congratulations Rafa for clinching the Year End Number 1 Ranking for the second time.
Incidentally, next week he equals Edberg for #9 on the list of most weeks at number 1. Nadal is certain to overtake Hewitt for #8 as well.

The 16th player to finish the season as Number 1 and the first Serbian to do so!

Re: #1!
It took well over two years, but a familiar name is on top of the world rankings again.
Next week, Federer will surpass Sampras for the all time record!

Re: #1!
Triumvirate just 3 months shy of matching Connors/Borg/McEnroe at 9 years 8 months for owning number one. With Lendl, 4 players held down number 1 for 14 years.

Re: #1!
Novak will end year 2012 as #1 no matter what! Even if he does not play at all at Paris Masters and World Tour Finals.
Second year in a row (and counting)!
