Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Zagreb SF vs Melzer
Marin looked calm, concentrated on court, his serve went back to his good time for my memory, which made me believe that his Chennai and AO were trying something new
Thanks god that I didnt notice any bad sign for his fitness, which really made me happy. Ajmo Marin against left-hander Mezler, lets avenge
After 76 64 against Karlovic, Marin said
Karlovic hit 24 aces but it was not enough to stop Cilic who now has eight consecutive wins in Zagreb. Cilic saved set point at 5-6 in the tie breaker, won three points in a row and made crucial break at the very beginning of the second set. He never faced a break point.
"Match was on the edge, just like expected. Ivo served great and I felt that he hit two or three aces in every game. But I was concentrated in every service game and kept discipline throughout the match."
While ahead the coming semifinals, Melzer said like this
"He obviously comes with a lot of confidence after reaching the semis at the Australian Open and the Top 10 for the first time," commented Melzer, who has a 21-4 record against Croatian players. "Also he is the defending champion, so he knows how to win here. But I won our last match and we always had tight matches."
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Zagreb SF vs Melzer
yeah...looking tired. probably had some adrenaline pushing him through earlier this week, but you can see he's played a lot of tennis lately. hopefully he can get over the last hump tomorrow and then relax before the critical Dubai/Davis Cup/IW/Miami series. Thankfully we should have an easy openner in DC so that should be an easy week for Marin
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Zagreb SF vs Melzer
I see Marin should have been tired even when he arrived at Zagreb, so this year we notice he didnt take part in many activities off court. While when he could find his own rhythm on court, felt comfortable, he moved well and right, then the match(es) looked okay, such as the qf vs Karlovic. But when it came Melzer, something was not as right as Ivo, he is not as tall as Marin, moved well, and his ball turned fast/flat, the height made Marin kinda difficult to find the accurate route, left-hander is always hard to handle in the early games of a match(thats why I could easily win many games but when time went damn long, I lost for sure  ) at this point he lost their last meeting, in final. Thanks God Marin wasnt the old boy this year Well, Marin is hungry for relax, I agree totally.
Goran divorced, didnt he? whether has he married again? his little angel yesterday being there clamly reminded me of Kafelnikov’s little angel, she got arounded on Marat's knees at his early tennis age
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Zagreb Title Again
Marin did that especially after so long weeks' tennis without stop and really a good showing Berrer fighting I am indeed proud of him, more on his concentration and win-over himself :music: Tho in my eyes, Marin has been changing something on court, which showed his shortage at serve, baseline and so on while it showed he still has much space to take on as well Let me be patient  Let us wait Let Marin take two weeks' pause and practice to get ready for the coming tougher competitions
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Zagreb Title Again
Marin is dead tired by now I think only adrenaline after losing the second made it possible to raise the level at the beginning of the third. Big congrats for the effort and the fifth title
Thank you dear I read it too, Marin's words on Goran' coach help cleared something of my confusion at Marin's 1st serve recently, anyway, try means progress, I have confidence on Marin  I will quote the article at press thread
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Dubai Quarters vs Melzer again
Against Koubek, the 1st set was very ok, the 2nd set had some problems, but I think some was from his serve-trying, some from his little cold (from his voice I guessed of that) anyway, he didnt make it into the 3rd set, thanks God
Now Melzer netting before the semifinals, ajmo Marin, fly over him AGAIN :tennis:
Re: Marin Cilic@ 2010 ATPTOUR … Dubai Quarters vs Melzer again
Shame for a nice draw, but a combination of wind and Melzer stepping up and adjusting his game turned the tide after Marin initially ran away. Ended up decided on a few big points. Onto the DC and then the masters

I had a suspicion this would happen. In-form Melzer is always dangerous and Cilic was bound to have a dip one of these days. I really hope he does well at one of the MS.
Good job boys Marin almost never plays doubles and the Lapentti brothers are a solid team, very good win to close the tie and take it easy for the rest of the weekend.
