Re: Europe/Africa Zone Group III - Venue 1 - 8 nations at Bulgaria (April 9-13, 2008)
Filipo,
Why Ivaylo Traykof and Kushev are not playing.
It's a pity that Bulgarians these days don't have player like Orlin Stanoytchev in the 90's.
That guy had unique personality :rocker2::rocker2:
Re: Europe/Africa Zone Group III - Venue 1 - 8 nations at Bulgaria (April 9-13, 2008)
Kushev is injured, he was in the initial squad. Yordan Kanev is injured, too (discal hernia). Vasil Mladenov was sidelined too with hard flu. I don't know what is the situation with Traykov. As i know he was in the preliminary squad. He played for last in Giza (Egypt) at the end of March.
Grigor Dimitrov is claimed for our future star (maybe like Orlin or more). He is very talented and is training hardly in Spain academy. His Spanish coach told that he will make him Top 100 in 1-2 years. So we're praying for him
By the way Todor Enev (BUL) def. Goran Tosic (MON) 6-4 6-0. The last match is doubles and for Bulgaria will play rookies Tihomir Grozdanov and Simeon Ivanov.
the rain stopped on time. i cannot confirm but i think all the matches are completed. rain was light and not so long (1-2 hours). i cannot understand the results from our information sites. even i don't know who Bulgaria will play tomorrow.
Sanon
tomorrow i'll tell the results earlier. the weather seems to be nice. even on Friday and Saturday will be 26-30 Celsius
tomorrow i'm busy at the university and i won't go. i'll definitely go on Friday and maybe on Saturday. I hope to catch the match with Turkey, which seems to be most intriguing
here you can see a TV report from yesterday. now i nderstood that the schedule will be made day by day, so the intrigue will remain to the last day. so i'm expecting Bulgaria to play with Turkey on Friday or Saturday.
I was late 10 minutes and Grigor Dimitrov was leading 5-0 This guy was playing extremely good at these moments and his agressive shots were imposible for Zorlu. The second set began with a break for Turk 1-3, but Dimitrov woke up and didn't give another game, 6-3. Our young talent (16 years) impressed me very much with his attacking style, beautiful one-hand backhand, agressive forehand and good baseline play. If he continues in this way i can see him in top 100-150, like his Spanish coach promised. He is at top 10 in juniors at the moment, and he is our big hope for the future.
In the second rubber Enev started the match with a break vs Ilhan and clinched the 1st set with another one, 6-2. Basically this match was different, because both players played long rallies. In the 1st set Ilhan made a lot of errors, after Enev was returning everything. In the second set Ilhan broke (1*-0), but Enev rebroke immediately. Ilhan was struggling with his left wrist, but managed to stay in the match until 3-3. Ilhan produced some really good winners, while Enev was frustrasted that he couldn't return well. Despite this, Enev broke for 5-3 and served for the match. He faced a break point, but saved it and took the win. Bulgaria clinched the tie and recorded 4th consecutive win. Bulgarian doubles won the last rubber, and with this clear win Bulgaria managed to return to Euro/Africa Zone, Group II. Tomorrow is the match vs Zimbabwe.
place, country, won ties/lost ties, won matches/lost matches
Montenegro, Turkey and Madagascar will fight for the second place (which gives promotion to Euro/Africa Zone, Group II).
Tomorrow's ties:
Bulgaria vs Zimbabwe
Turkey vs Cote D'Ivoire
Montenegro vs Madagascar
Bulgaria and Turkey with clear wins according to me, and Montenegro and Madagascar will fight for the second place. Turkey has chances if they win 3-0, and Montenegro loss.
