Marat almost got the best 1st rd he could get in a Masters. Although he's had trouble with Novak in the past, they haven't played since Marat was a teenager. Hope he doesn't leave it to luck.

Agassi pulled out a Fish again  Hardcourt season just not going his way.

Rainer say goodbye to the Top 10.

Nadal will beat David. All in all not a bad quarter to be in.

Who can stop another Fed/Andy final???

Does anyone have the qualifying draw, and if so could you post it?
The deadline for Alternate qulifying sign in was just 15 minutes ago so you probably have another 45 minutes to an hour wait if they're quick about it. I can actually sit back and relax this weekend.

A lot of guys I like are supposed to be in quallies but the most important is safely in the MD:yeah:

ugh they wasted a wildcard on Gambill that could have gone to Brian Baker! :fiery:
Uh, no, obviously they didn't see it that way. Regardless of his current ranking, JMG still sells tickets for that tournament and I believe they have been using him in some of their advertising since he was verbally promised that WC a while ago. Brian Baker is still only 18 isn't he? And he hasn't done a lot on the pro circuit yet, so the WC's he gets from the smaller tournaments are still good enough for him at this stage. Masters WC are a bit more competitive, not just for Americans but for the top players in general who don't make the draw (not all of the IW and Miami WC's went to Americans if I remember correctly). I'm sure Brian will get a wildcard to LeggMason or Delray, or any number of American tournies next year. Glad to see Alex get the last one though and that is one of the many first round matches I would want to see if I was there. Will be very interesting....

Yes, they are... Again, the tournament director/committe recognizes that he is a popular player who sells tickets and is willing to do Kids Day or whatever else they ask of him, probably the same reason for giving one to Todd Martin (he had to withdraw with an injury). He will attract more attention than Brian Baker. I am a little bit surprised that Tursunov didn't get one. Isn't he still in the top 80 or so? Maybe he didn't ask.
