Frank Dancevic (CAN) given Wild Card to London/Queen's Club

He beat Rusedski in the Quarters of Surbiton, and now he has a WC to a great event. I hope he does well.

Let's hope he doesn't get Santoro in the next round. Fabrice will get a ton of serves back in play and the longer the rallies go the worse off Frank will be. I think Lubbo is a much better match up for him. Whatever happens, this is a great result.

Great week for Frank. But it will be tough to beat Fab!

Wimbledon draw is out. Frank drew Steve Darcis of Belgium in the first round, should he get through that he'd likely have Karlovic in round two.

Darcis is a good player but is only 3 -10 this year so he's not exaclty playing great in 2009, definitely a good chance to at least defend his points from last year. As for Karlovic, that will be tough but as long as Frank can take care of his serve - well anything can happen in those tie breaks so who knows.

Should he win both of those matches, he'd have Tsonga... which, well, would very likely be the end of the road.

They're playing in very windy conditions. Santoro his usual self - lots of fantastic lobs, passing shots, and slices but Frank is holding his own so far. Entertaining stuff.

You can watch here: http://www.atdhe.net/7394/watch-atp-wta-eastbourne

Update: Frank breaks at 4-4 and serves out the first set, 6-4.

Obviously we don't a chance to see Frank play very often but after watching him this week it boggles the mind how he could have lost so many matches this year to guys ranked out of the top 100. Even though he's struggling with his first serve today he has such a fluid game and is very gifted at net. His groundstrokes are a bit inconsistent but very explosive. A joy to watch.

So can we just assume from now on that Frank will always draw Tursunov in the finals of an ATP tour tournament? :)

This result couldnt be more timely. With all these points to defend, a few more first round losses and Frank might have woken up in August as the THIRD best Canadian player on the tour!
