1.Nadal - Will probably be 100% physically ready for RG, but question is how will his game work after long absence, but anyway he has a lot of time to raise his form for French and the fact that he is starting the season in Chile just helps it. It really much also depends on his ranking position and draw
2.Djokovic - Will be even more confident and focused for RG than a last year. Second favorite if not tied with Nadal
3. Federer - A favorite only for SF match and only if he draws Murray TBH
agreed that djok will be determined to win it, id put him as favourite. i wouldnt be surprised to see delpo make a big move there though - he plays really well on the clay - the ball sits up perfectly for him to tee off on
Too early for this thread! The only person i'd be confident in picking as of now is Novak.
Nadal - unknown quantity - how are his knees, his health , fitness. What will his seeding be? If he had Murray in QFs Fed in semis Novak in finals ---that would actually be extremely tough for Rafa.
Federer- unknown quantity - Expected QF place beyond that idk, i cant see him wining here the surface is just not suited to him at this phase in his career.
Murray - unkown quantity--- With excellent movement and now a big FH, his game could translate really well onto clay with Mr L help Andy could be real genuine threat this year at RG.
Del Potro - Plays really well on clay, has he got the fitness to go toe to toe with the likes of novak and nadal and win?
Ferrer- Plays great on clay a QF place at least maybe higher depends on draw.
Cmon man. For a guy who hasn't stepped on court in 6 months, has had to drop out of a friggin exhibition with a virus and now out of a slam, you're telling me he's automatically a favorite for a tournament 6 months down the road?
2) we're living in a weak clay court era that allows a part-timer to win RG, kind of like how serena williams can come back in to kick the rest of the WTA field in grand slams after playing 2 matches for the whole year
Depends on Nadal's run of results in the build up to RG really. If he strings a good set of results together, and wins a couple of MS's then he'll have a great opportunity. If not, they can play the surface on knee-friendly Styrofoam and it wouldn't make a difference, it's Djoko everytime.
