alias KGHM EMAX POLISH INDOORS OPEN CHALLENGER ATP WROCłAW 2006
I just wanted this thread to be mine before the entry list comes. I know it should be on 17th Jan but I hope to manage to get to a pre-date exam on 18th, taking a few exercise tests in the middle so I might have no time to sleep, not even speaking about creating a thread before anybody else.
And it's my city and my challenger and it's going to be cool And my friends from different parts of country are coming... yay...
And I should work in the press office, of course
THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE IS www.kghm-atp.pl but I fear it's only in Polish
(I can give you few lessons of Polish when I have time and before the tournament starts )
But you surely remember "come on Chris!" :haha: I wonder if Chris comes to us again hahahaha....... Gosh I do wonder who will play doubles here!
WILD CARDS
I was yesterday at the press conference. I fear I was the "most into tennis" person between all of gathered, including the organizators. They say the wild cards go to: Michał Przysiężny (because he's a national hall champ), Adam Chadaj (because he's awesome), Dawid Olejniczak (because they don't know he's already signed to Australia :haha: ) and the winner of contest between young players from the region (because the organizator thinks his son is going to win it).
Chadaj probably can make it even from the ALT list... Olej can't play... last card not given... looks like even despite they say trading cards is something terrible (well... not minding the fact I would like to see someone from top 50 who BOUGHT the card, they are still right), in the last time the cards will be given to unknown people like Hungarian double player of Kubot (like last year) or others who rather can't be attractive enough to make people come to Hala Ludowa. Filip Urban feels it, that's why he signed to France futures at the time of playing Q in Wrocław. It's very likely he can get a WC to the main event anyway.
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - Wild Cards Offered but how seriously...? haha
Right, after they beat Cermak and Friedl, I think they have felt much more confident and will go to South America No Vanhoudt there too. I've no idea who will play doubles there...
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - Wild Cards Offered but how seriously...? haha
The fact our guys in doubles did so well... is building and I'm happy but now who... the hero Santoro with his partner Nenad Z.
BUT THE FACT TOMMY FINISHED HIS CAREER TOTALLY SUCKS I COULDN'T BELIEVE AND I STILL CAN'T !!!!
I sent him an e-mail, maybe we can figure out some more information about this sad fact
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - Wild Cards Offered but how seriously...? haha
talking about Matka / Frytka.... the official AO site put a note
Fabrice Santoro may be through to his maiden Grand Slam singles quarter-final at Australian Open 2006, but the greater workload has perhaps taken its toll on his doubles ambitions, with the two-time Melbourne Park men's doubles champion bowing out with his Serbian partner Nenad Zimonjic on Day Eight.
Santoro partnered fellow Frenchman Michael Llodra to the 2003 and 2004 Australian titles, but the 33-year-old and Zimonjic, the No.5 seeds, were unable to book their place in the quarter-finals, with Poles Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski winning 7-5 7-5 on Show Court 2.
With the victory Fyrstenberg and Matkowski will now play local Ashley Fisher and American Justin Gimelstob for a spot in the semi-finals after the pair tamed Belgian Christophe Rochus and Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka 6-1 3-6 6-3 on Day Seven.
Our guys' fastest serve was 222 km / h and they hit 80% of 1st serve. So I guess it was not only Santoro's tiredness as many people say. I don't know what to expect from the next match.... Surely soooooo difficult, much worse than this one cos Fisher happens to be an Aussie though and Slam is in Aussie land not in Sopot , Wrocław or wherever here
BTW i wonder if we be fancied to see Frytka's bro around on Wrocław's courts. :haha:  :aparty:
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - MATKOWSKI AND FYRSTENBERG WILL PLAY HERE !!!
just got the e-mail from "the right person" and have been told Matka / Frytka changed their minds, they WILL come to Wrocław, they will play doubles and they will also play singles cos of Wild Cards!!!!!
(maybe they figured out Olej won't play and 4th was still to give...)
i think you know i always keep you up to date so any info i get i will post here

PS. i believe the free-beer thing, don't you remember when one spaniard was thanking our friend with black-out for this?
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - MATKOWSKI AND FYRSTENBERG WILL PLAY HERE !!!
Najlepsi polscy debliści: Mariusz Fyrstenberg
i Marcin Matkowski wystartują we wrocławskim challengerze KGHM
Emax Polish Indoors (z pulą nagród 125 tys. euro). Obaj tenisiści
otrzymali we wtorek od organizatorów "dzikie karty" uprawniające
ich do gry w singlu.
Debliści mieli nie przyjeżdżać do stolicy Dolnego Śląska,
ponieważ nie chciano przydzielić im "dzikich kart". Organizator
Olejniczakowi. Decyzja o tym kto otrzyma ostatnią przepustkę do
turnieju głównego miała zapaść tuż przed rozpoczęciem imprezy.
"Po awansie Fyrstenberga i Matkowskiego do półfinału Australian
Open organizatorzy wrocławskiego turnieju podjęli błyskawiczną
decyzję o zaproszeniu ich do imprezy. Było to możliwe, ponieważ
Olejniczak zrezygnował z jednej z +dzikich kart+, a ostatnia wciąż
pozostawała do dyspozycji organizatorów turnieju" - powiedział
rzecznik prasowy KGHM Emax Polish Indoors, Jakub Kowalski.
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - MATKOWSKI AND FYRSTENBERG WILL PLAY HERE !!!
Olejniczak sam wzial sie zglosil do Australii...
(sorry for Polish but our foreign guys treat it as another lesson of language)
Kiedyś by mnie to wkurzyło, kiedyś zdziwiło, ale teraz mnie to śmieszy. Cały czas kompleksy nie dają spać po nocach? Nie wprowadzaj bałaganu do wątku
Re: Week 6: Wrocław (POLAND) - MATKOWSKI AND FYRSTENBERG WILL PLAY HERE !!!
No wlasnie, najgorzej jak sie nie przeczyta dokladnie, a potem pisze glupoty.
Ja bym bardzo chciala zeby Olej zagral we Wrocku, ale sam wybral gdzie chce grac, to jego sprawa. Tam bedzie 8 zawodnikiem turnieju, jesli dobrze pamietam
