He is currently playing the 15th Sarawak Chief Minister's Cup, in Malaysia. After qualifying in two pretty easy straight set matches. He is now played three matches and is through to the quarter final's in straight sets. He will next play America's Campbell Johnson.

Duckworth played in Thailand last week where he made the main draw by qualifying then made it to the third round, he also ended up winning the doubles title with Benjamin Mitchell, who did the double last week winning the singles and the doubles. These are some of his stats.

Birth Date - 21/01/1992
Birth Place - Sydney, NSW
Residence - Sydney, NSW
Nationality - Australian
Plays - Right Hand (Double Handed Backhand)
Favourite Surface - Grass
Coach - Ben Pyne
Current Ranking - 169

He is also currently ranked 1395 in the men's rankings at the moment.

Good Luck to James in Malaysia.

Been awhile for Duckworth to get back on court, this time on clay, in a Futures in England. He has progressed to the semis , cruising through the 1st & 2nd rounds before coming up with a creditable win over Poch-Gradin 62 75 in the QF round. Faces a sterner test in No.1 seed, Belgium's Yannik Mertens.
Let's hope Duckie can rise to the challenge.

Duckie currently ranked 653, with 27 points; defending 3pts from an Oz F4 QF last year; 6 pts gained for semis in $10k Futures will go to 30 pts - with 30 pts (from 12 matches)should go to between 625-630 in ranking.
He has only 2 pts to defend in Sept and then none until Nov, so if he can continue his good form he potentially could reduce his ranking quite considerably by December.

In an all Aussie clash in the 2nd round in the Poland F1, Duckworth gets up against Matt Barton, coming from a 26 first set deficit to win the next two sets 61 75 and advance to the QF round. Plays No.8 seed Blazej Koniusz next. Duckie will have to bring has A-game... let's hope he can make the semis.

Only just got the better of Skoloudik but got the win and into the final. Is that his first?
Go Duckie, bring home the bacon!
:D

Duckie currently ranked 631, with 30 points; defending 0 pts this week; 18 pts gained for winning $10k Futures, will go to 48 pts - with 48 pts (from 13 tournament)should go to about 540 in ranking. (After Roland Garros)
Hope he continues this rise, will be good for him to now play $15k events to get more points.

Sounds like wishful thinking from Brent Larkam. There is still a massive road ahead for James. After this win he is on 48 points but he needs to at least gain around another 152 points to guarantee a Grand Slam qualifying berth. Not taking anything away from this week but lets not jump the gun here like we have with so many other juniors. James has a massive road ahead of him if he wants to get to that position. Still great to see both James and Ben Mitchell winning their first futures tournaments this year and nice to see the 1992 class doing well.

James has done something the Golden child TOMIC hasn't achieved - won a futures clay court tournament.
No need to qualify that with the clay surface. Tomic NEVER won a single futures event, and only made one final when he was 15. His surprise challenger when he was 16 kind of enabled him to skip futures (well that and wild cards, AO runs and an anorexic playing schedule).

Duckworth into the semis in Poland, after a repeat of last week's win over Poland's Blazej Koniusz. This time he is in a higher level tournament than last week. in a $15k Futures, so doing very well. Faces up against No.1 seed, the 162 ranked big serving Pole giant Jerzy Janowicz - a tough assignment...
Go Duckie, get to another final.

Ended up losing the final in straight but still a good two weeks for him. Plays in the Polish 10k this coming week and then another 15k the week after in Poland again. Potential to have a very very good month in Poland considering he has already gained 33 points in two weeks. He is now going to move into the top 500 so he should have a good chance of getting seeded in some futures events after this week. Between now and the end of November he has just two points to defend in September so he could really make something happen if he continues this form.

Perhaps TA were right when they were saying he'll be playing RG qualies next year. He seems to be quite talented on the red dirt.
