I open this thread for posting news about which tournaments Rycka will play in next weeks/months
First week of 2012 he's 5th alternate in Brisbane (actually 4th because Young withdrawed), I think he will play qualies there if he can't get direct entry. Next week he will play AusOpen qualies. Then in february he could play american ATP season or Challengers in Europe
So he takes a week off and then goes to cincy to qualify?
No chance he gets a main draw WC at USO? He is after all gonna be probably at worst 90 in the world by the time he gets there seeing as he had very few points to defend.
If he continues to do well in the US there is an outside chance, i would think that he'd get a wild card into the US open. But he has to keep the good form up to have a shot at it
His next event will be US Open, so there is nothing he can show till that time. Berankis said that he asked for WC but personally I don't believe he can get it.
DOn't know if that's smart. He had enough rest. He should be playing now that he is on fire, he needs the points. Waiting until US Open Q means 3 weeks of not playing. He could have played Cincy qualis, then US Open Q.
I agree, i think it might be smarter to play something between now and then, take advantage of the great form. you also dont know, if he did keep up that level and get a good result in another american tournament he might just end up with a wild card into the main draw and not have to worry about the qualies
I think he couldn't have entered into Cincy qualies because of his ranking (unless he asked for a WC), and next week there aren't challengers in North America, so maybe he could have played this week in Aptos, but anyway hasn't too much options
He'll play in Stokholm this week, is in main draw, because some players withdrew from the tournament
