Still developing, but this is horrifying.

They have started questioning the younger brother, the 19-year old, and as expected it seems like they've been radicalized mostly through Internet. Might lead to some discussion around censorship and if it's OK to post all kinds of shit in the name of "freedom of speech".

So these two young men appearently thought that 9/11 was a setup by US to start a "war on Islam" thanks to youtube videos and forums and that was a major reason behind their acts in "defense of Islam".

It's interesting how they believing in the conspiracy against Islam somehow found the logic response to prove them right by commiting their own new 100% REAL terror act in "defense"

But ofc his parents are now claiming that this terror act WAS NOT REAL but a new conspiracy by FBI to setup Islam and their sons.

You can see where the boys developed their ideas. So sad.

As much as we all dislike the people who hold political ideas different than our own, it's always better to hear those voices because to talk all the time to people who think the same is to go down a rabbit hole,

3 deaths isn't a lot for a terrorist attack but keep in mind that's because of where the bombs were placed. They were on the ground low. So they blew away feet and legs but because of quuck medical response those were not fatal. There are dozens that have been permanently maimed.

#417 ·
I'll make this point again because thus far it's been stubbornly ignored. The Boston Marathon is a worldwide event, representing 71 countries. It is the top event in running. Americans almost never win it. An attack on it is not just an attack on America as shown by one of the deaths being a Chinese citizen. An attack at Wimbledon would not be just an attack on the UK. An attack at the World Cup would not be just an attack on Brazil. If this would have been a purely American targeted event, a Red Sox game or something would have been targeted.

I don't disagree, but reportedly the two bombers let the man who they kidnapped go because he "wasn't American."

Edit: All I meant by this was that clearly they had a grudge against "Americans" even though yes it is definitely a worldwide event.

#421 ·
What the hell are you talking about?

Also, learn your own language. It's "Americans" not "American's".

#434 ·
Land of the free, baby. Come on over. I'll take you to a baseball game, we'll grill some BBQ, and go shooting.

Cite me a report of him saying no. And not writing it or shaking his head. Also cite me where he is supposedly unable to speak.

Tsarnaev, who was not asked how he intended to plead to the charges, spoke just once — when Bowler asked whether he could afford an attorney.

"No," he replied, according to an official transcript.
http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-boston-bombings-20130423,0,4947538.story

That's just one story. I've read others, but that was the first one I found when researching your question.

I'm not finding anything that says the suspect was on a ventilator at the time of the hearing though. I will keep looking.

Also from the LA Times story:

Before Tsarnaev was formally charged, two sources familiar with the investigation said officials were able to ask him several questions, and that although he could barely speak, he was cooperative. One official with knowledge of the investigation said Tsarnaev acknowledged that he and his brother were motivated by jihadist ideology.

#440 ·
Okay, now find some evidence that someone can't speak through a ventilator. Or that they didn't discontinue it briefly for him to speak. Or that he muttered "no" while also shaking his head, indicating a clear no.

Is this the best evidence you can come up with for conspiracy?

those two young men should have finish their studies
they should have wasted their time on the web hitting on girls on FB on talking to other friends who they have a crush on
they mother should have watch them finish Uni'/high school instead of their arrest/hunt
they should have been looking for a job in a few years and getting married
they should have know a hunt in a video game and get killed only when they wife would have scream at them for spending so much time on video games
they should have get a little bit fat, bald, tired but happy and alive with their family and the family they created.

this is tragic
all of this is tragic
a person can be the world to another person.

Where did I say there was a conspiracy? I simply think there are a lot of things that do not add up and which people overlook far too easily.
This is what conspiracy theorists do. Make things up and then claim that nobody has answers.

Like "tell me why there are no charges related to the policeman." That is really suspicious to you. But even when it is explained to you that it is a perfectly normal legal procedure, you will still be unwilling to do the maths.

Sorry, my mistake I am completely wrong. I remember there being a huge effort to close it as well as the release of a large number of prisoners.

National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said in a statement, "Obviously Congress has taken a number of steps to prevent the closure of the prison at Guantanamo Bay, but the President still believes it's in our national security interest and will keep trying".
Your own President disagrees with it.

Like that proves anything. Our own president is wrong most of the time. And tried to close it until he realized that it was actually better to keep everyone there, because where else would he send them? Good luck finding a state in the US who wants them.

I am so sorry if this was put already here. If so, then mods can delete it. Too much posts to read, so I will try my luck and still put it here.

Anyway, this is very serious issue. This conspiration theory seems very real IMO. Much more than the 9/11. I won't say anything more. Just watch wth your eyes and comment if you want.

Good lord. Another one of you?

as in every terrorist attack it is sad to see random people suffer. so nothing new to add from that general aspect. from political side, this blog entry coincides my thoughts, so i won't retell what malic has written for those who are interested.

from the moment is was known that chechens where responsible i knew that this incident will absurdly add new ammunition for never ending anti-russian campaign. too bad i didn't post here because now i don't have proof and i can't gloat over this bizarre nyt article that is mentioned in the blog.

lolwut?

Russian attitudes to Chechnya have been disgraceful. Yeltsin screwed up pretty bad, but Putin really fucked things up and the blood of Beslan and Dubrovka is on his hands as much as the seperatists'.

Not anti-Russian to say that, just common sense.

#473 ·
btw chechens conducted act of terrorism (in chechenya and out of it) before putin crushed rebelion.
yeltsin de facto acknowledged independence of their islamic emirate but apparently that wasn't enough for poor jihadists so they attacked other provinces.

My family thinks money in the good 'ol USA means you're a winner.

The guards at public events, like the Boston Marathon, were in front of the killers time after time.
The cowards had big coats & giant heavy backpacks, put the packs down & left quickly. Only the one maimed survivor saw how suspicious the killer was. His rescuer, a 52 year old man, everyday people & an off-duty firefighter were the true heroes, but the
lame 25 year old guards weren't even nearby.

Guards couldn't care less about the people in the crowd. Probably the useless police & guards were more interested in making money.
The FBI phone tapped the killer but the US let the idiots loose and the "friends" treated them as heroes because they weren't living in poverty.

Now, bomb survivors suffer daily with physical reminders & possible feelings of depression, hatred & humiliation. "Politicians" call the victims to tell them they are heroes, and tv hosts begged them for numerous interviews a week after they were blown up & burned badly.
Obviously, if you aren't rich or famous & you don't work exhaustingly for the USA politicians, Congress & lame corporations, you're declared a loser.

What is this socialist drivel?

#487 ·
ah a heated debate :)

First off, let me say that these bombings are terrible, and they maim, kill, and traumatize so many innocent people. The people who did this are sick.

Now for the debate, I can see Echoes portraying a different point of view, and others being offended by his statements. I disagree with Echoes that voters are not innocent civilians. Much of what happens in the world is hidden behind a curtain of deceit, lies, and cover-ups. Add to this the media who play a significant role in how we perceive the world and it is incredibly hard to connect dots. The bipartizan system in America makes things much much worse. As Lewis Black said, they have a choice between 2 bowls of shit.

This being said, I am a little disgruntled by the outrage when something happens in the US, as compared to when bad stuff happens in the Middle East, or South America. The number of civilian deaths, injuries, and trauma's because of US/allied bombings in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and as Echoes rightly said, because of Drones are massive. Yet in the West we don't seem to give a crap. This has to do with the amount of media coverage ofcourse, but the ethnocentrism is strong with us Westerners, and really, if we are so bloody civilized, it shouldn't be.

Tsarnaev family received $100G in benefits

Monday, April 29, 2013
By: Chris Cassidy

The Tsarnaev family, including the suspected terrorists and their parents, benefited from more than $100,000 in taxpayer-funded assistance — a bonanza ranging from cash and food stamps to Section 8 housing from 2002 to 2012, the Herald has learned.

“The breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning,” said a person with knowledge of documents handed over to a legislative committee today.

The state has handed over more than 500 documents to the 11-member House Post Audit and Oversight Committee, which today met for the first time and plans to call in officials from the Department of Transitional Assistance to testify.

“I can assure members of the public that this committee will actively review every single piece of information we can find because clearly the public has a substantial right to know what benefits, if any, this family or individuals accused of some horrific crimes were receiving,” said state Rep. David Linsky (D-Natick), the committee’s chairman.

Linsky’s committee has requested documents from the DTA, the state’s Medicaid director and Health and Human Services Secretary John Polanowicz. But so far the committee has not released the records publicly, citing a privilege the DTA is asserting under state law.

Transitional assistance officials also told the Herald tonight that the agency was conducting its own investigation into whether Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s family ever notified the DTA about his extended trip to Russia, and has since expanded its probe to include a full history of the benefits received by the entire Tsarnaev family.

What is $100G? Does this article man $100K? It's not surprising, considering they came to the US with literally nothing as refugees, it makes sense they would receive benefits.

The mother and killer's wife were arrested for shoplifting. The killer received a lot of government money and was phone tapped by FBI. Stupid ignorant government and FBI combined together with criminals' insanity.

Criminals' obsession with social status were big issues that underlined their robbery of the government and murdering & maiming of citizens.

Why's there surprise when there's a long history of useless security in public for decades?

Anyone pointing to these things is "labelled" a socialist. I'd rather be labelled stupidly by a clown than be another tool to be used as a tragic hero.

Millions of people receive government benefits, that doesn't make them all terrorists in cahoots with the FBI...

#493 ·
Alright this is not some fucking conspiracy. The U.S government and FBI did not kill these people. It was a few fucked up guys.

Also on the topic of death. 1000's die in the middle east, africa, south africa, mexico, asian countries, etc. Maybe less in Europe and America, but still death sucks, no matter the media coverage or whatever else.

Justin Trudeau, probably the next PM of Canada, reacted to the Boston bombing by stating that clearly these people felt excluded from society and we must examine the root cause of why they did what they did. Hopefully this kind of thinking about the terrorists first and the victims second will backfire come election time.

The alleged bombers had every reason to be thankful to the US for providing a new life, education, welfare benefits etc., so the old, tired excuse that it is payback for the US interfering in the Middle East can not be trotted out this time.

So I wonder what else could have been the root cause of their terrorism............
