:tape: Marine won't be happy...

Thanks a lot for the pics though. :yeah: Nice that he stayed to watch all those other matches. He's partner with some of those who played in club, isn't it? He kind of seems happy to please his first few groupies in the pics... LOL Or maybe he had training, if, as you said, you really mitrailled him with flashes...

And the translation of gentil would rather be "nice"... ;)

Congrats Jon for his first "big" win on the senior tour. It was a matter of time since his previous matches were pretty tights but anyway well done :)

A bit rusty at first but then, when he was on, he was really on... But Mertinak called the trainer and then the doctor so maybe... Or maybe it was gamesmanship and then, Jon wasn't perturbated at all by it!

Let's hope Ascione will proove Nathii right and play like a has-been if it's him... :p

It was cute that all the french players were at his match. :p

Yep however the thing is that the guy said Challenger but all those Morrocan tournies are Futures... Anyway, i like the idea too. His favorite surface is HC so a long preparation for the transition to clay is good. Yet, he's definitely able to play well on clay though (European Championships, Milan tourny etc...). ;)

No upset today. He just lost 3-6, 6-2, 2-6 to Ascione.

A few match stats :
1st serve : 34/64 (53%)
Aces : 8
DFs : 4
Points won : 64 (68 for Ascione)

Bad start and very bad finnish (got broken in the first service game in the 3rd)... Lots of UEs. Yet, he played really well in the second. Nice attacking game when he's on! But it's true Ascione played far better in the last set.

Cya in Cherbourg hopefully! ;)

Interesting report by his father on his official website...

(intersting...)

I think the exageration was intentional. Those reports are very often an interesting read. Interesting because that's not the impression i got while following the match, that he was overawed (while at the Jr. AO final, then yes, from the little i saw, it really seemed to be the case...).

If by some miracle some hadn't noticed this thread in GM, Saumon/Gabrielle's pics taken in Besançon : http://www.menstennisforums.com/showthread.php?t=96206
