The first post is dedicated to Lalitha, the starter of the original chat thread and has been missing from MTF for a long time. Hopefully she has a very busy real life and enjoying every minutes.
Everything/where in North America, especially the western part, look big and splendid in real life  Many animals, those not strong enough, will die during winter but that's what nature's plan. Only the strong survives.
I plan to visit Yellow Stone Park next summer but may need to change the plan. I have a hard time planning for anything for the next 3 months.
I wish that you can do your visit next Summar and post us many beautiful photos, I have one old secondary school mate who is working in Sillicon? Valley, she said we may visit Yellow stone park some day together when I go there, but i don't know when, very troublesome to get a visa, she is very funny, she lived in HK for more than 20 years before she left for USA and she almost comes back once every year, she drives to work when she is in USA which is such a big country, but couldn't find her way to our meeting places as Chinese restaurants etc in a small dot like Wanchai, I have to escort her to the tennis court in Quarry Bay, funny though she used to live in North Point
Roads are pretty simple in western states in US. Even in a very BIG city, there's only a few main roads. Most cities are designed in grids/blocks, like rice fields. Most of the shopping areas are right next to the main roads. Unless you visit a friend, you won't get into a residential area.
It's soooooooo much more difficult to look for a street in Hong Kong. Also, most of the smaller streets here don't use name but numbers. Like in Pheonix metro here, the center starts in the city of Pheonix with Central Avenue, going west is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc Avenues. Going east is 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc streets. So if you're on 10th street and you need to reach 50th street, you know you need to continue east for another 4 miles. And even my address has a street name, (most residential street does) but the number of my address indicate I am near which street or avenue.
Plus nowadays, almost everyone has a GPS system in their cars telling them how to get to their destinations
They are adorable :awww: But I find most babies cute :inlove: Yeah, it's nice that Roger and Mirka have been together for so many years now
Rafa's latest injury is really sad I hope he recovers soon. Rafa at #4 or #5 is just not right. Are you going to watch the finals tomorrow, mimi?
I am happy that Roger is in the finals, but now that he's won 15, I don't mind others winning as well, especially since I like Murray too . So I am just hoping for a good match
thanks for your explanation, but i still think its easy to find places in HK coz you can simply take a taxi/MTR and the different exits will show you to different places
very busy today even its Saturday as i was on annual leave on 31 Dec, see you later
bought a kitcken set 煮飯仔 at Sogo coz my sister told me that they have a 20% discount, oh god, still so expensive $279 in total, the set does not include the soft animals that are sitting in the chairs of kitcken as shown in the cover, HK$62 each for a small rabbit
well you know, I threw away most of my 煮飯仔, now i am getting old, i wanted to get back some of my good memories
congratulations on finishing examns and your idol won :smooch:. He was playing like god again, but Murray should at least won one set to keep his face better
you are so lucky to have such a successful idol, no need to worry his results like me
Murray is under tons of pressure. He was sooooo uptight in his final match. Poor kid. I wanted to give him a big hug listening to his speech. I hope one day he really can ignore all those pressure from the media.
he still has many chances to win, when he does not have to face roger in the final, difficult to overcome this big mental obstacle, i think he has more chances at us open, wimby too much pressure from his country
oh god, I feel so sorry for the President, his relatives and his citizens, I am not lying, but I immediately thought of you when i heard this accident :smooch:
oh poor President, he looks like a good person, it seems that justice is not being served since its the Russians who killed the Polish at 1940 and now when the president of the victims wanted to pay visit for the dead and to ease the tension between the russians and polish, he was dead ....
the pilot was too careless :fiery:
don't feel too sad, Greg, President is now resting in heaven:angel:
I still don`t know what to say. I`m totally broken.
In 2005 I voted for Lech Kaczynski and he really was my President He was very underrated President and his wife was a very good woman. Poland lost 96 people, most of them was the greatest people in my country, very popular and significant politicians... two Presidents, members of Solidarity
It was shocking tragedy and one of the worst week in Poland history.
The State funeral for the President and First Lady of Poland will take place on Saturday in Warsaw, followed by burial in Krakow’s Wawel Castle on Sunday.
I had the same feelings during the death of Pope John Paul II and his funeral in April 2005
You are going to feel less sad as time goes by, may be the president and his wife are now in better place than this cruel world? :smooch:
isn't his twin brother is still in the government? may be he can rule the country for his brother?
I know how you feel, I don't know if it can help you feel a bit better. Many best people from USA were killed in 911 too, but the Amercian citizens did not get down by this horrible accident and worked hard to re-build everything, so Polish for sure can do the same
His twin brother Jaroslaw Kaczynski is the opposition leader, but not in the goverment. He can be candidate for the Polish presidency, but I don`t know. He lost his family and also can drop out of politics.
Poland is a strong country and will survive, that`s for sure
Poland will hold a presidential election on June 20 following the death of Lech Kaczynski. Acting President Bronislaw Komorowski will fight against Lech Kaczynski's twin brother Jaroslaw. It`s still very difficult time for my country. I hope that the opposition leader (J.Kaczynski) will win.
the match was being showed at 12:30 am my time, i did not watch much, swap between watching and lying on bed. I thought the match was going to 3 sets as Roger was leading in tiebreakers and he is the king of tiebreakers, Rafa surprised me at the end
ok, i'm here.... watched Rafa in finals today.. didnt expected him to go so emotional and the way he was crying with the towel covering his face.. havent seen him do that before.. But it was so nice
About myself, i'm alive and kicking.. As usual work is keeping me busy. but i do come here once in a while to see the posts, but could never really post anything.
hope all are doing good. Miss you all. mimi, lee, angiel and all of you......

Congrats to Rafa on his RG win and an amazing clay season
:smooch::yippee: congratulations trickcy for finishing your exams. Are you going to travel overseas later?
me still the same, working and slacking by posting on message boards from to to time. Thanks for your kind words for rafa, but your roger is not bad either, he has 16 slams, and may be 17 soon
just watched a little bit since they were even at 59:59, no patience to watch till the end coz it seems that they could go on till next year
how about you? Finished your exam and enjoying summer holidays? how is the election of your new president, i hope all going well
