The great RR format strikes again and Willy won't have time to celebrate his win in Brazil as he has to play Guzman to qualify for the RR phase (gracias Jaite).

If he wins then he will play Lucho Horna and Nalbandian.

Fine performance from the warrior and now it's a straight shootout with Lucho.

I guess it's better this way...Willy was probably worn out...so he should definitely rest a bit...cool enough he lost in Buenos Aires and he doesn't have to travel much to be at home... ;)
Enjoy while you can Willy!!!...you gave a 110% as usual!!!

And congrats to Lucho!!! :yeah:

Cañas:

"I'm very mad because of being out in Buenos Aires, but well, I already accapted it. I want to recover fast physicaly to go back to playing in a good level."

"I was very tired before going into the court and I felt it much more after the first set. He played a great match and to beat him I had to try more things, but it became difficult to me because of the physical thing."

Thanks for that translation and I think Willy needs some rest and might turn up in Miami.

Re: Willy in the Desert or in Miami Vice? The North American cheering thread

No Indian Wells For Willy?

He has played a lot of tennis early in this year so waiting till Miami may be a smart decision.

I would much rather have him 100% and ready for Miami and hope for a nice deep run in Miami. :yeah:

Willy is playing Indian Wells and is the number 1 seed.

He plays Jan-Michael Gambill in the 1st round.

Willy plays Hajek who has had some health issues and if he wins then he'll be playing Federer, the ultimate test.

Sorry, but I've just figured that he took a place as qualifier
He will play against Hajek in 1st Rd and Federer in 2nd

Alright time to get a piece of that guy named Federer, I think he is pretty good ;)

But keep fighting Willy and stranger things have happened, I beleive we can see the upset today.
