Hello bee, I watched the match up till the rain delay in the third.
Not much to comment on this match, pretty much went according to plan I would say except for mother nature's interruption.
My poor recollection aside, I think Kei was up 5-0 before losing the one and only game in the first set.
Nothing overly impressive by either player, but I thought Guido Andreozzi played alright for his first major debut. He's got the bigger serve and hit more aces(but also more DFs), and on occasion out hit Kei in the rallies.
Kei with more experience, played the stats with a smarter game and got the job done in straights.
But I thought he wasn't returning well, so hopefully it gets better in round 2.
Next faces Tim Smyczek of USA which Kei has a losing record against...yikes!
Commanding a more solid performance from Kei!
It was a fairly rountine win, his 1st and 2nd round was against players ranked outside 150 so it's expected from him... Although we're probably still getting used to it
This is how it should be now that he's seeded, spend less time on court in the early stages and have more left in the tank against the big guns (might be Cilic next).
The result consist of Smyczek making quite a lot of errors and Kei managed to stay focus for 3 straight sets!
Okay call me bad, but i keep on praying that Cilic would lose in the first round and even the second round...but sadly he keeps on escaping death  I just hope Cilic would be too tired against his match with Nishikori. And really, Kei would play so well! Now that Tsonga is out, Kei has really a great chance to reach QF, but yeah he must survive Cilic first
If you're bad then I must be worst (as a supporter) because on the contrary, I was kind of hoping they will face each other (with Kei winning of course ).
I want to watch some good tennis and this was a great matchup, one of the most anticipated 3rd round for me.
And with Tsonga out of his section, the draw has opened up even more. Hope Kei can take full advantage here.
Finally showing some spirit, I know he's got to play within himself, but he was too passive in the first two sets.
You can't beat Cilic playing defence all the time, at least not today cause Cilic is on top of his game.
Was broken early in the 4th set and couldn't turn things around.
Only 1/9 bps won, missed too many chances and missed a big opportunity to reach QF here.
Just wasn't enough today and Cilic seem very determined.
Hope he can stay healthy and maybe win a title before the season is over, he has a fair bit of points to defend in the coming months.
I managed to watch the first set, but got annoyed at my streams and went to bed instead... was hoping that I wake up to good news, but unfortunately no!
ahh this sucks, was hoping Kei would make it to the QF atleast
i really hope its nothing serious. He really cant afford to have a serious injury right now
