Default Re: Gaston vs. Hewitt RG 2004 special treat

This is one of the special days where it all came together for him. There were no funny screams, hardly any faults, he was just concentrated and playing high quality tennis.

The thing is that Hewitt did not play badly at all in this match, he was just outclassed by a better claycourt player. These two have had some good battles on the clay and Gaudio should have won all of them to be honest, especially the one in Monte Carlo of 2004. He was up a set and a double break, but had one of his meltdowns.

This match was comparable to his other great performance in the 2002 Barcelona final where he smashed Costa or the loss of 6 games.

On Nadal bumping him on the changeover, Rosol said: "It's ok, he wanted to take my concentration; I knew he would try something".

Wilander on Dimitrov - "He has mind set on imitating Federer and yes it looks good. But he has no idea what to do on the court".
