SUNDAY EXHIBITION IN HONOUR OF FEDERICO LUZZI
The Internazionale BNL d’Italia will get underway with an exhibition tournament to raise funds for “Fede Lux”, the charity which was set up to raise funds for leukaemia research in memory of Federico Luzzi, the Italian player who tragically died of the disease in October last year at the age of 28.

While the two finalists of the current Barcelona tournament will obviously be otherwise engaged on Sunday, all of the other 44 players taking part in the men’s Masters 1000 tournament were more than happy to make themselves available for the four one-set matches which will be held at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm on Sunday 26 April on Centre and No1 Courts.

World number 2 and two-time Internazionale BNL d’Italia finalist Roger Federer was one of the first to sign up for the event and will play the final exhibition match at 4 pm. His two closest challengers in the rankings, Serb Novak Djokovic and Scot Andy Murray, will also be involved, along with five of the six Italians in the main draw, namely Simone Bolelli, Andreas Seppi, Potito Starace, Fabio Fognini, Flavio Cipolla and Filippo Volandri.

Hostesses will be on hand at the entrances to the two courts to take donations for the Fede Lux foundation, while there will also be a stand throughout the tournament selling articles from all of the main suppliers with profits going to the foundation. Luzzi’s family will also be present throughout the exhibition day.
i remember rafito posted such a nice condolence message on his website in october
