Default Re: Part 2 : Which one of these 8 youngsters will have the best career? Cilic, etc e

Tsonga - Solid groundstrokes off both sides, very competent at the net, punchy and accurate serve that could improve even more and mentally very sound. Already shown that he can win TMS titles and crush the field in regular ATP events. Shown he can beat the best players.

Gulbis - Inconsistent at the moment but highly talented. Looks like he could make the step up very soon if he pulls his game together.

Cilic - Making good progress up the rankings and very good an beating people below him. Immensely stong mentally too. Still not sure whether he has enough in his game to beat the very best though. A bit one dimensional at times.

Bolelli - A bit older than the others but making the kind of progress that could take him into the top twenty if he continues to improve. Very good on clay and not too shabby on hard courts either. Beautiful backhand. Not convinced he is top ten material.

Querrey - A very solid player improving all the time but relies too heavily on his serve and forehand. Will get outwitted by more intelligent players with more variety but is still a dangerous customer when on form. Not that bad on clay either. Can go on the occasional good run.

Korolev - Far too inconsistent by the looks of things, and haven't seen enough to be convinced. Good on clay and hard and successfully qualified for Rotterdam, but needs to do more.

Zverev - Again, haven't seen enough but hasn't shown the same kind of promise as the other lot. Am happy to change my stance of further evidence.

Young - Too much pressure and in freefall. Will do well to recover in an increasinly competitive field.
