American-born Australian Carsten Ball will make his ATP debut at the US Open thanks to a wild card from the US Tennis Association announced today.

Ball's ranking rose inside the top 200 for the first time in his career this week, ascending to world No.182 on the back of a semifinal apperance at the Binghamton Challenger event in the USA.

Laurent Recouderc of France, who won his first-round matches at both of his only ATP events at the French Open and Kitzbuhel last year, also was invited along with Americans Scoville Jenkins, Amer Delic, Brendan Evans, Austin Krajicek, Jesse Levine and Sam Warburg.

The 21-year-old Jenkins is ranked a career-high 195th. He won three matches to reach the main draw of the French Open this year.

He made it to the US Open last year through qualifying, then lost to eventual champion Roger Federer.

Delic was the US college singles champion in 2003 and is now ranked No.128. He qualified for this year's Australian Open and made it to the second round, along with Levine and Warburg
