ITF announces 2009 Davis & Fed Cup dates

The ITF today announced the 2009 dates of Davis Cup by BNP Paribas and Fed Cup by BNP Paribas. Davis Cup occupies the weeks in the calendar already announced earlier this year, while the Fed Cup Final joins the Davis Cup Final outside the regular tour calendar for the first time since 2004. The full dates are as follows:

Davis Cup by BNP Paribas 2009
World Group 1st Round 6-8 March
World Group Quarterfinals 10-12 July
World Group Semifinals and Play-offs 18-20 September
World Group Final 4-6 December

Fed Cup by BNP Paribas 2009
World Group and World Group II 1st Round 7-8 February
World Group Semifinals and Play-offs 25-26 April
World Group Final 7-8 November

ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti said: “Just as in Davis Cup, the Fed Cup Final will provide an outstanding season finale. The 2009 calendar as it stands sees Davis Cup and Fed Cup rounds spread out evenly throughout the year.”
