For any stats nerds out there:-
To reproduce his best total season he needs to combine the second half of 2003, points total 3575 and the first half of 2004, 1370 (including the measly 5 for losing in the first round at Roland Garros again).
He played 21 tournaments over that period compared to 17 last year and reached the quarters or better in 81% of them (last year that stat was 76%). So with a few more tournaments and that level of consistency in 2008 he should be Top 5.
