Swiss know the different ethnic groups, and yes there are many Kosovars in Switzerland. However, there are many Serbs as well. In the media, they often distinguish between Croat, Kosovar and Serb (and others). So no, I don't think it is a large scale mix up of not knowing who is who.

And yes, there are stereotypes about all of the immigrant groups. I guess this is true everywhere. In the US, there are stereotypes about immigrants from Africa, from Asia, from Latin America. These stereotypes are not always in a positive light.
