derek recently played an event near his home on the usta circuit, and played one of the epic matches of his life, winning 2-6 7-6 (5) 6-3 from 2-6 3-5 down and a pair of match points saved.
he fell 4-6 2-6 today to the tournament favorite after an early lead in the opening set. this is no doubt a big step toward the successes that derek is going to undoubtedly achieve in the future.
