Which puts Nadal ahead by a mere 55 points. The tide appears to have turned. A couple of weeks ago Nadal looked to have the slight upper hand in the race to finish the year as #1, but having scored only 230 points in the Monty/Cincy double to Rogers 850 points, the race is now Federers to lose, with all remaining tournaments being played on surfaces which traditionally favour him over Nadal.
Up next: The all important US Open after a week which sees no action from Fed or Nadal.
I hope the tide keeps on turning toward Roger. Logic would make us expect for Roger to do better at the USO than Nadal but we can't assume so. We still have to be on high alert for our Roger.
