Default Re: Pick of the day Thursday 19th MAY

Again ( ), Giro d'Italia today:

H2H: Sella to beat Rujano @ 2.00.

Huuuuuuuge value. Rujano is clearly overrated here. Rujano, a veeeery little guy from Venezuela (1.50m) was very active in the first week. He had a long escape in the 5th stage, but was caught by the bunch a few km before the finish. And in the 7th stage the guy was attacking from a group with Cunego and Simoni ( what was he thinking!), again he was caught before the finish and even finished behind the bunch, he was really tired. And I expect him to take a little bit of rest today.
Today we have the first real mountain stage. I don't expect big guys like Cunego, Basso and Simoni to attack this early, coz we have so many mountain stages to follow.
This is a day for the climbers from the 2nd row, like Sella. The guy is always sooo active in the Italian mountains, and this year he's said he also wants a decent overall standing (like top 15 or something like that). He has been quiet so far this Giro, saving his energy for stages like this, but he's already shown that he's ready for the challenge (finished 25th in the time trail, very good as we know that he is not a time trialist at all).
