Maybe not. But it would prevent certain players from breaking into top 10. Why should a grand slam event for women should be easier than masters? (5 matches in 7 days vs 7 matches in 14 days?). It also prevents players who are insanely fit and have lots of stamina from utilizing it to the fullest, which should be a valid tennis strategy. I am tired of seeing out of shape players huffing and puffing after 1 hour under the sun. Make women's matches best of 5, is the only option. The top 10 would be looking VERY different in that case.
