That bird is supposed to be stupid in Greek tradition. I doubt how that can happen since it is a close relative of owl, the bird of wisdom according to Greek tradition.

I would pronounce it as "Vike" with silent "e" at the end. (same as in "bike") As I saw, I would be wrong
