Nadal, conceding to his hissy-fit, played well below his capabilities; tons of errors from either side - neither could find the court.
2009 AO aside, any time these two players have gotten together in recent years has been pure trash. Madrid wasn't as bad as the pile of shit that was last year's Cinci match, but it was awful nonetheless.

haha OP!! see ^^^ someone else here agrees that Madrid Nadal - Verdasco was a horrible match!! the blue clay was frightening, both players in not very good form, Nadal choking 5 games lost in a row in 3rd set, ughhhhh I almost threw up. at least if Verdasco had been in form, but it was like watching two tennis players on ice...
agreed though backhand, that 2009 match was brilliant with their styles clashing, but since either Nadal has just grinded Verdasco into a million errors or both have played poorly :/
