Hate crimes happen on a daily basis worldwide. LGB and especially trans citizens are by far most likely to be victimized. Please be careful of your surroundings at all times, especially at night. Always care pepper spray/taser/brass knuckles/etc., have self defense awareness and tactics you can use, always walk with friends. Be careful and be safe. It's a PATHETIC reflection of society that people have to worry about their safety so much by just being alive and social, but life isn't fair, sadly.
