This sandy beach in Brazil attracts sunbathers throughout the year, and in the past was considered sharks free. However, since 1992, there were at least 50 shark attacks, 19 of which resulted in the death of the trench. Environmental activists argue that the fault is due to destruction of the coastal ecosystem due to fishing boats that travel too close to the coast
