Yes, the 2 former champions would be good choices for Wildcards (insofar they are fit by that time).
The 3rd will probably go to a Frenchman.
Last year all 3 went to Frenchmen (Benneteau, Chardy, Mannarino).
However, the situation was different: Davydenko had direct entry, Nalbandian was injured.
Btw, the LastDirectAcceptance was N°43, plus a SpecialExemption for Nishikori, who made the finals at Basel.
This year with the WTF directly after Paris, some prominent withdrawals could occur.
That's why Monfils could maybe enter directly and not needing a Wildcard.
