It's quite saddening really watching Vasek right now.
Nearly a year ago, he was going places. Encouraging performances in challengers, won a round in Montreal, pushed Federer for a set. Then he qualified for the US Open. He also beat Isner in Valencia. It was all set up for him to succeed and become a very decent player.
It's not going so well though. Pretty poor year, and his game has fallen to pieces.
It's true, but it's not so surprising. A lot of the younger guys do well for a while and then fall back. Vasek in particular seems prone to this sort of thing.
