Re: Rotterdam R2: [WC] Zverev def. [3] Simon, 7-5 3-6 7-6(4)

Good match. Bar the last 2 points, Simon couldn't have done any more, Zverev hit through him and played the match on his terms.

Re: Doping in Tennis Thread (No accusations without proof. Wada IC report published)

Love how no actual tennis journalists in the English-speaking circle bother to investigate or look into all this, probably because some of their favourite players would come under suspicion. Wouldn't...

Re: Has Andrew Murray, OBE "vultured" his #2 ranking?

Him getting it last year shows how being a clay court specialist can be a real help, rather than being, say, a grass court specialist. His clay form was the best it's ever been, while his level on...

Re: Memphis R1: Harrison def. Tiafoe 6-7(0) 7-6(8) 6-4

Losing to Harrisonmug isn't a promising sign that's for sure.

Re: Ferrer vs Gasquet - Who is the ultimate vulture on tour ?

Monaco made a top 10 ranking with no GS QF, that was top vulturing.

Gasquet is the worst though

Re: 2016 Montpellier F: Gasquet (1) def. Mathieu: 7-5, 6-4

I'm on about whom he beat to win his 250s.

Re: 2016 Montpellier F: Gasquet (1) def. Mathieu: 7-5, 6-4

Gasquet is the biggest vulture on tour right now. 13 250s and no decent scalps. No surprise that top player fanboys love him for his hapless surrenders, though.

Re: Is RG 2016 Nadal's last chance for a slam?

Probably.

Yet last year he rolled his way through to meet Djokovic, the one player with a track record of knocking him out of bigger clay events.

If Nole lost before him, he could go and win...

Re: Matchups don't matter

Olympics was deffo a peak Nadal lol, 1 and 2 vs Hewitt, beating Djokovic who'd had the edge in HC meetings prior to that and then turning Gonzo's power on him in the final.

Re: Montpellier R2: [1] Gasquet def. Gulbis 6-4 6-4

Had Gulbis actually played well he'd have sent the vulture packing. Just hope Federer's absence next week doesn't mean Gascoke will steal a 500 with a 250 field.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 3

Clearly it wasn't as Gulbis would have won the set otherwise- his peak is higher.

Re: Respect to Djokovics fan base

Perhaps the fact there's bans for wishing injury has something to do with it.

Re: Slam count of Murray at Retirement

If Novak exited a Slam he'd have a good shot of adding another, but then again so would Federer, Wawrinka and Nadal.

Re: Grand Slams Where The World #1 Was NOT The Favourite?

RG 2003 Hewitt not favourite.
W 2014 Nadal not favourite.

Also X amount of RG's with Sampras as no 1

Re: Montpellier R1: Berrer def. [7] Coric 7-6(5) 6-2

Coric just isn't that good. Pretty weaponless grinder with no big weapon and the future of the sport is putting its faith in him? Pfft.

Re: Federer declined.

Well duh. He's nowhere near the player he was in 2012, let alone 2006. 2012erer would still win Wimbledon right now, if not a hardcourt GS.

Re: Did Murray decline?

Since surgery he has declined a lot on grass and quite a bit on hard courts, but improved on clay (before it, he used to struggle with the back on the surface) so it's a bit of a double-edged sword.

Re: This Australian Open ended up being a huge flop

Oh behave.

Djokovic has won 'great' slams before. AO 2008, AO 2012 in particular were great slams. Wimbledon '14 wasn't bad. This one was shite. But carry on with the insecurity complex.

Re: 2013: a very underrated year in ATP

del Potro played great tennis tbf except during clay season when he had some problems and missed RG through injury. Great IW run from him, Wimbledon run, Shanghai run also. Shame he didn't beat Isner...

Evans hovering under the radar as much as possible after losing 1, 0 and 4 to LaLo  Don't blame him

Re: "New Balls Please" appreciation thread

Obviously he's still active but Federer v Agassi TMC 03 final.

Probably the scariest match I've ever seen any player play.
