Re: Daily Results - Everything from ATP to Juniors

I'd been wondering why we haven't seen a bit more of him. A few years ago he was talked about as our most promising junior, but that's shifted to Jasika, Popyrin etc. Good luck to him in Bangkok!

Re: Gavin Van Peperzeel

It helps that all four of those challenger level wins were at the same event. It would be nice to see him enter a few more challengers now that his ranking is getting higher.

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread

He has nothing to defend through August, perhaps this time of year he has designated as break time. He had been overseas for a long time anyway.

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

If Burnie gets cancelled that will be very disappointing from my personal stance as it's my local event. I hope at least it will be replaced (maybe even a challenger at Melbourne Park?) as its place...

Re: The Everything Davis Cup Thread (News, Articles, Live Scores)

Interesting, although facebook isn't really the most trusted source. Maybe Bosnia is just his backup plan in case he makes one small mistake and is abandoned by Tennis Australia

Re: The Everything Davis Cup Thread (News, Articles, Live Scores)

^^The state of Australian women's tennis is quite alarming, we haven't had a "homegrown" player crack the top 100 since Dellacqua in 2007. Although we can't really expect players to develop when TA...

Re: The Everything Davis Cup Thread (News, Articles, Live Scores)

To be honest I hope we do as well. A win would just convince TA and the public that they did the right thing, and would almost be like a "win" for TA. I'd love to see the fallout after a loss too....

Re: The Everything Davis Cup Thread (News, Articles, Live Scores)

Good on Bernard for speaking up against Tennis Australia. Looking at facebook comments in response to this though everyone is still on the side of Tennis Australia. Tomic and others have reason to be...

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

The mixed doubles team they beat is a funny pairing, two players on the rebound

Re: Oz rankings thread

I don't think there is an issue with Gavin's ranking. His doubles ranking is 268, and he did lose in R16 in doubles at An-Ning. On his singles ranking breakdown An-Ning is listed as a final

Re: Jason Kubler Cheering Thread

I thought he would be ok to play on the grass, a few years ago he played ITFs in Australia on grass and made the semis of junior Wimbledon.

Re: But Wait There's More - Whittington, Harris, Grills, Mousley and Bourchier

Mousley has made his comeback playing the last two weeks in Turkey. Last week he lost second round and this week in the quarters. Good luck to him

Re: Bernie on Grass — 2015

Second round win over Haas 7-6(6) 6-2 saving two set points in the tiebreaker, the first saved with a great passing shot.

Someone should tell him black socks don't particularly match the rest of his...

Re: Australians on the green stuff

Marinko might be the Ebden of 2015. Marinko's ranking looks set to drop sooner in the year than Ebden's so he'll be forced to play challengers earlier

Re: James Duckworth Cheering Thread

No doubt James is playing with some extra pressure knowing that every challenger he is playing is an opportunity to crack the top 100. A small slump after his career best start to the season (and...

Re: Aussies in Challengers and Futures

Matt Reid loses another close match, this time to Burnie titlist Hyeon Chung 3-6 7-5 7-5. He led 4-2 in the third

Re: Australian Open 2015 discussion thread

^Harry Bourchier 2.0

Tomic and Kyrgios still aren't on RLA. Usually if an Aussie wins their first round match they become a fixture on center court until they lose. At this rate if either of...

Re: Australian Open 2015 discussion thread

There's been a few questionable scheduling decisions, but I think Goerges v Hradecka on RLA today takes the cake as the worst. Kyrgios and Tomic haven't even been on RLA yet so surely this deep into...

Re: Australian Open 2015 discussion thread

Tomic and Kyrgios both win their round 3 matches and are through to face Berdych and Seppi respectively. Both of them would be hopeful of a quarter final berth, especially Nick after Federer's loss....
