Re: WWW Australian Open SF: Novak Djokovic [1] v Roger Federer [3] XLV

Fed in 4. Mark it, etc etc etc. The court is playing fast, Fed is playing well, crowd will be on his side, won't mess up big points like he did at the USO.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

This match is a good snapshot of Goffin's whole generation. If your kids ask you "didn't any young players come through to challenge Djokovic, Federer, Nadal" just show them a vid of this match.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

Goffin needs far more juice on his forehand. On BP Fed actually gave him a soft slice on his forehand, knowing that the Goffin FH was no threat, just so he could get a weak cross-court FH reply -...

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

Winners 24-6 Fed.

Sorry, make that 25-6.

Commentators taking the mickey out of Goffin now.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

Exasperated body language from Goffin as another backhand winner flies past. May as well throw in the towel.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

Powder puff forehand on BP got quite deservedly pulverized by Fed.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

This is great from Fed. Don't think Goffin is playing particularly badly - he is just playing his normal (albeit quite weaponless) game and being overwhelmed.

Re: 2016 Live Commentary Thread vol. 2

Federer looks very sharp. The other match reviews I read on here said he wasn't that good at the moment - don't really agree. He looks strong, Goffin is a decent player but completely overmatched.

I think the first step shouldn't be jumping into matches like this but rather long, long hours on the practice court doing drills first.

Or, better, just hours of practising serve and nothing...

Re: Basel Final: (1)Roger Federer def. (3) Rafael Nadal 6-3 5-7 6-3

Nadal seemed better than he has been but still not really up to scratch. I think everyone, even Fed fans, knows that prime Nadal would have found a way to win this and/or Fed would have found a way...

Re: Nadal is Only Great on Clay and is Biggest Conditions Beneficiary

I wouldn't make these judgements based on his current weak level. Whatever people say about Nadal outside clay, he used to be competitive with Djokovic on hard courts, and now he is getting...

Re: Roger Federer: "I should have never been down in the first place two sets to one"

This was a dreadful loss - not quite up there with the infamous Nadal AO 09 match where he won more points but still managed to lose, but not far off.

The conditions were slow but he still won a...

Re: Betting odds for the final

Federer is going to win this.* Don't take Djokovic at 1.75 or any price.

Says my highly accurate predictive model. :)

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 24

It's not just the body shape. Facially he looks like a kid who hasn't bought his first razor yet. Both physically and mentally he is very immature - a lot of improvement still to come. Unlike Coric...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 24

Exactly, this is why he will be GOAT in 5 years' time. He's already taking a seed to a 5th set, when barely out of diapers. Once he fills out he will be unstoppable.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 24

Unfortunately, the chances of GOATrev taking this are zero. 18 yr old (recently 17) will have zero stamina and even if he gets to a winning position, will choke. BP conversion versus Kohli's so far...

GOATrev with an easy hold. Hope he can take this - next round opponent isn't too intimidating.

It's 0-4 now. If he can break here, we could well see 'reversed bagels' which I don't think I've ever witnessed before...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 24

Lol. 3-0 up with a double break. Has there ever been a match with 'reverse bagels' - 6-0 followed by 0-6?

Is anyone watching this match - what is actually happening?

Although I am insisting...

Re: Cincinnati F: Federer def. Djokovic 7-6 (1), 6-3

The clip needs to be longer so we can see what happened to Nole's racquet. :D

No wonder he said 'no comment' about Fed's new tactic. :rolls:

Re: WWW Cincinatti SF: [2] R.Federer vs [3] A.Murray

No way. Fed's competition from 04-07 was about 20 times stronger than Djokovic's competition at the moment. Safin, Roddick, Hewitt were all world no 1s/ Slam winners in their teens and early 20s. The...
