I'm not saying it is for me. Personally my priority...

Who should I vote for in the UK general election...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Problem is I don't think we have much of a say now inside the EU, especially when 24 of our MEPs refuse to take part on principal.

I agree many (possibly most) immigrants contribute far more than...

Exactly.

My favorite is

"A genuine free market requires restrictions on the ability of predator multinationals to create monopolies."

Replace with popular brands or successful businesses and...

Stupid survey. So many questions are phrased to get a left-wing response out of the user. I'm not falling for that.

Re: Describe yourself politically

If modern-day description of libertarianism is "right-wing" then I guess I'm very right wing. But traditionally "right-wing" means nationalism, fascism, protectionism and social conservatism - none...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

I'm slightly torn on the EU because free trade and cooperation obviously help businesses, workers and tourists, and improve relations between nations. But it only works when members are roughly equal...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

I got:

50% Conservative
50% UKIP

NID

Not a very good survey. They should try following the German wahl-o-mat model.

Re: Christian thread

I was so happy last Sunday, three of my favourite hymns came up.

I'm a Roman Catholic but these hymns are for all Christians.

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

The SNP situation is interesting because it's plausible no government can be formed without them. If the Tories emerge the largest party with around 290 seats and the SNP get 40 seats, no other...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Forget uniform swings, this is the most unpredictable GE ever. Survation and Lord Ashcroft have shown, even within England, very unusual patterns emerging across the regions. Lib Dems will lose...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

Cameron is favourite over Miliband even though polls have Tories and Labour neck-and-neck. Historically polls swing one or two points towards the sitting government in the lead up to a GE so this is...

Re: The United Kingdom General Election thread

The Green surge are former Labour and Lib Dems who want more left-wing voices in the debates. Some have already switched back to Labour although the Lib Dems look pretty screwed.
