Re: Nick Kyrgios and coach Todd Larkham part ways

I can't imagine, as a coach, wanting to stick around when your guy says "I want to go lay about and play video games for a week." less than two weeks before the beginning of a major.

Re: Wimbledon 2015 Projected Seeding Discussion (19 of 32 seeds confirmed)

Small error - your numbers suggest it's still POSSIBLE for Anderson to win the title in Queen's and pass Dimitrov for 11.

EDIT: I'm dumb and don't look at the right column all of the time.

Re: Is it just me or is Federer looking like the favorite for Wimbledon 2015?

Honestly he needs a perfect run of health and no wild dips in form to have a chance. At that point he can win, but it requires staying out of long tussles with players he needn't play for long with...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 17

Tracy Austin is giving her all announcing today, and I really appreciate it. I'm laughing my ass off, even if it's not all intentional.

Re: Do Federer fans really want Djokovic to beat Nadal at RG?

Given even the slim chance Roger makes the final, he has 0% chance against Nadal and like....25% chance against Novak Djokovic, so yeah....

EDIT: 20% even.

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 14

Best part about this match is how pissed you can tell Jim Courier is getting with every second that passes.

Re: RG11 R4: Fognini saves 5MP to def Montañes in epic 4-6 6-4 3-6 6-3 11-9

I love this match so much; I laugh every time I think about it. It really was Fognini at peak crazy, combined with the utterly braindead strategy Montanes employed in continuously feeding him balls...

Re: Wednesday OOP is out: Murray plays the first match on Wednesday

I'm sure after last week that Andy's just fine with going out, starting, and getting done, rather than potentially starting at some absurd hour of the day.

Re: The worst Federer has ever played to win a title?

Of the majors, US Open 2008 is a great candidate. I know he was AWFUL in that Wimbledon 2009 final but at least kind of served well.

Re: Federer RG-09 vs Nadal RG(05-08,10-14)

Federer's best level was at RG 2006 or RG 2011. Just watch the matches from those years, it's pretty clear.

Re: Would Fognini and Nadal be considered white in America?

People would probably consider them "European", and it depends on when and where they are whether they'd be considered "ethnic" or have to carry the brunt of an "ethnic" label. Italians were quite...

Re: Fifth set tiebreak in Davis Cup from 2016 onwards

This idea doesn't have anything to do with trying to get top players to play more - I'm imagining it's just to attempt to stop a Friday match from ruining a player for the entire weekend?

Re: Let's Not Kid Ourselves: Grigor Played Absolutely Awfully

I think the problem is more that Grigor is still turning in these kinds of performances too consistently, where despite all the game he has, he's just not delivered on that "killer instinct" at all....

Re: Borna Coric : "At the moment I am the best player of my generation"

From what I've seen of Coric, I don't really know what people's major objection is. I don't know the X's and O's like most here, but I like what I see and I don't have any reason to think that with...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

With Coric's age and inexperience, and the long match last night, how don't you even just make him play? You've burned a set and haven't pout the kid to work even slightly. He's 18, and likely has...

Re: 2015 Live Commentary Thread vol. 6

Despite everyone laughing at him for his hubris, I really do not think Coric's game looks that dissimilar to Djokovic's, especially given Coric's age/potential for improvement of so many things.

Re: Federer trashes Davis Cup: ''It's been a big burden and caused many difficulties'

Thank God he can just say "Fuck Davis Cup". He clearly didn't really care for it all that much, so I'm glad he doesn't feel it necessary to play.
