Re: Bernardes taken out of Nadal matches at the French

#JesuisBernardes!

Seems like a very well timed and strategic shot in the war on the time limit to me, and good on them for it.

Strategically timed just before the FO to practically force them to...

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

Yes I agree. Imagine the challengers are a safety net so he doesn't end up playing challenger qualies! And probably doesn't really much want to play tour qualies either given the relatively low...

Re: Aussies on the red stuff...

Yep, so with Duckworth's loss last night (and I could have become a fan again if he'd won that one!) only RG to go for the clay season, Van Peperzeel's Croatian futures run aside (now up to SF -...

Re: Australians on the green stuff

Agreed, looks like he may be asking for one for s Hertogenbosch as well, on the alts list for it.

Also notable that Mr Kubler is on the alts list for the 250s and 500s, so may be thinking of...

Australians on the green stuff

Wimbly entry list is now out so thought this might be a good moment to start a thread for the next part of the season.

And on the draw, Marinko missed md (cut was 98), but is second alt, so will...

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

Some interesting scheduling choices ahead - while Thanasi seems to be on the alts lists for most of the tour level tournaments on grass (but ranking at entry date too low for direct entry), has...

Re: Matthew Ebden

I certainly hope so, would be nice if he could make it back in, but that seems pretty optimistic at the moment.

Mostly been playing the less competitive challengers, and while the extended grass...

Re: Thanasi Kokkinakis

And today trained with Dimitrov apparently.

Like that he is maintaining relationship with his assorted mentors/doubles partners, cheering on the other Oz lads. Also practiced with Federer again at...

Re: Aussies on the red stuff...

Dream run! Good for him being able to take advantage of lots of strategic withdrawals.

Re: Nick Kyrgios - Yes He Canberra

Yes looks like a bit of pseudoscience pain relief so problem unlikely to be serious, possibly a bit of a strategic withdrawal given he really doesn't need any more of a warm up for next week (really...

Re: Aussies on the red stuff...

Kubler and Bolt, previously our two best clay players outside the top 100, out in QR1...very very disappointing.

Re: Worst/Weirdest WC's choices ever.

Not weird at all - lots of tournies give out wcs to young up and comers...and 1/2 making a deep run showed not bad choices.

Re: RG Q1: Donaldson destroys Chung 60 61

Nice report indeed - many of us Australians were wondering how Luke Saville managed to get a win on clay!

Re: Luke Saville Cheering Thread

Apparently had a small Oz cheer squad encouraging him. From an MTFers report on Day 1:

Re: Worst/Weirdest WC's choices ever.

If you were doing an open merit selection for the wildcards as Wimbledon does, it would have been the Kokk's on the face of it on the basis of qualifying for Madrid and winning Bordeaux, with the...

Re: RG Q1: Donaldson defeats Chung 60 61

:rolleyes:You might be right, but I suspect you are thinking of Duck.. not Donald...! Jared Donaldson is currently ranked 156 (121 in the race). I haven't seen him play, but on the face of it he is...
